This sounds like a good idea, funnily enough, I was thinking doing an edit like this as well, I just thought  that TPM's only purpose is to be a back story for Obi-Wan, so making it the first half hour of AOTC would be great. For example, the movie can compare Ankain with Young Obi-Wan and you can see that Obi-Wan is trying to prevent Anakin from doing dark things like seeking revenge.

Another change which I thought about was if Qui Gon got killed on Tantooine and Obi Wan stormed Naboo on his own. This would show independence on his behalf and there is a bigger emotional payoff when he defeats Darth Maul.

Hi, I’m new to the the idea of fan editing and I have little idea of how to create a solid edit, but I’ve got a few ideas which could help spice up the prequels as a whole

I have always been a Star Wars fan, I’m 15, so I grew up thinking the Prequels were the greatest things evr but as the years went by Episodes I-II became disappointing and I can see why The OT were vastly superior movies. So I want to make an edit which please both the younger and older demographic whilst making the Prequels actually feel like STAR WARS Prequels.

A lot of dialogue can be rearranged just like the Ridiculousness edits to add banta and change the story.

Episode I (Power of the Jedi?)

I would like to base this edit on Secior’s edit. A Nice fast paced intro to the jedi and intro to main characters like Anakin and Obi-Wan.

However, I’d like to make a change. The scenes about Naboo and stuff are completely replaced with scenes discussing the creation of a clone army. This will lead up to Queen Amidala just wanting to take on the droids herself.

This episode is more centered on Obi-Wan’s journey

Episode II (Attack of the Sith?)

The Clones have been created anyway, to Padme’s dismay. This episode can be based on Ewansfan’s idea of the rescue mission happening at the beginning of the movie since this can serve as a great opening battle and to acknowledge that the clones have been made.

Near the end, Obi-Wan is still confused by what Count Dooku said about Sidious so he goes on an investigation, he comes across Grevious for the first time (Who maybe is revealed to be Darth Maul) He escapes with out giving away too much spoilers and the episode ends on a dark note.

Episode III (Dawn of the Empire?)

In episode III the opening battle and Ani being manipulated switch place to build up the scene were Ani kills Dooku, then they meet with Grevious but in this version the ship could blow up, killing Grevious.

And episode III continues as usual. Also I’d like to persevere as much surprises as possible involving Anakin’s identity and the creation of Darth Vader

So do you think these edits would work well. Your opinion would be great 😄

Box 1: The Prequel Trilogy

Box 2: The Clone Wars

Box 3: The Original Trilogy

Box 4: Special Features

The Prequel box will be a picture of Young Obi wan, qui gonn and young anakin and on the back will feature a shot of the episode iii final duel. Inside will feature 4 dvds spanning L8wter's trilogy and adywan's future prequel trilogy (I know it'll be good)

The Clone Wars box will have a shot of darth maul, pre visla and savage opress and the back will be a shot of anakin dueling asajj ventress. This box will be split by 4 dvds spanning the micro series, the malevolence arc, the season 5 finale arc and the 3 arcs about the nightsisters and darth maul

The Original Trilogy box will be a picture of Han, Luke and Leia and the back will be a shot of the duel in episode v. The box will consist of 4 dvds spanning the Harmy's episode iv and v and spence final cut of ROTJ, ANH:R, ANH:RHD, ESB:R and ROTJ:J

The special feature will be deleted scenes from the all 6 films some fan documentaries, and maybe plinkets reviews of the prequels. The box will have Yoda, R2 D2 and C3PO

Other box sets will be made of future series' and trilogies. And that would be my ultimate star wars collection

Ok so I've just seen the work print of Cloak of Deception and I loved it. I think it was well paced, tense and even quite light hearted at times. 

Things I liked:

.The Portrayal of Anakin was better since he seems more brave and a likeable kid

Other sides characters like R2-D2, C3-PO and Jar Jar were quite charming and funny, but weren't crammed onto the screen too much

.The action was really fun to watch since it got you engaged and excited for what's happening next. Also Maul was introduced perfectly.

The Things I didn't like too much:

.There was a few scenes which could of been cut, since they weren't too necessary like the Anakin saying goodbye to Padme scene and Jar Jar talking to Padme scene etc. They just felt like they were getting in the way of the stuff I wanted to see. But I'm 14, so what I think could be completely different to everybody else.

But overall this is one of the best edits of the Phantom Menace. Cut out alot of crap, but wasn't too harsh and the audio was pretty smooth through out :)

So one thing, I've now thinking about switching the way I'll be editing these films.  I might want to edit them in reference to machette order (4,5,1,2,3,6) instead of chronological (1,2,3,4,5,6).  It has nothing to do with the fact it is harder to get the PT to work chronologically, it's more that I prefer to show Anakin become Vader but still want ROTJ to end the saga.  Another reason, is also the higher level of action that exists in these films that are clearly trying to be on top.  I will still make it sure ROTJ is still the most action-packed episode, by leaving out stuff like force lightning in Episode III.

I am still going to keep Sidious in Episode I, but not make it obvious it is Palpatine till Palpatine tells the audience.  I want his reveal to be a revelation to the audience, but I also want him to stay in Episode I to let his scenes mirror Darth Vader scenes from ANH, as my TPM edit will very closely mirror ANH as much as possible.  ATOC will mirror ESB much more in the restructure, and ROTS will closely mirror ROTJ, the difference being the good guys don't come out on top.

However this brings the mirroring films idea, an idea that would make more sense chronlogically.

So, should I go machette order or chronological?

Would it be possible to have an edit where it can be shown in machette order AND chronological order? For example not mention the name skywalker in episodes 1-3 or something like that. I don't mind really, either way I bet these movies' will be far superior to the original prequel trilogy
