Spence,
I was wondering if you were still going to finish your work on matrix reloaded extended version? i know the T-HOPE is doing a version, but I was wondering if you were still gonna finish the one I helped with the script for and the one you said you finished most of? I would like to see both of your interpretations of the films...just because they are both extended cuts doesnt mean that they would be the same, there are many scenes that are out of context without the game that can be used in other places, as we discussed, and where these places lie can make all the difference in the fan edit...

i like the idea with the keymaker flashback...id like to see any idea that puts that somewhere in the film...god knows i couldnt think of a good place...

would i be a pain in the ass to ask...after you finish the edit, could you throw a version with the whole animatrix flight on a dvd for me...i would normally not ask for anything special, but what i am asking is to leave something uncut which is less work and just to pick it up where your edit does...please email me at ruesnarn11@hotmail.com to discuss if this is something youd consider

Ive read everything and my feedback is as follows:

1. first of all, well done. you did a good job moving things around to make them make sense, things ive never thought of.

2. the Niobe arriving in zion scene, I've already given you an idea about. I forgot to mention why it makes sense...after Neo looks for the Oracle, the next scene originally is Morpheus flying into Zion. It happens too fast and there is no break. with niobe flying in first it will give the impression that some time passed so that Neo could get back to the ship and then get back to zion. besides, you already make niobe and locke the next scene which is the tailend of the ship returning to zion anyway, so it does fit right there.

3. please dont cut up the animatrix. here is the reason. The way it begins, the stripping fight is an easy way to get into the action. i watched the matrix squared where they start right off with the action, and it is too abrupt. there is no time to get into it. I felt like i missed a scene or something...the way the animatrix starts, it is easy and smooth and then BAM!!! there is action. also, this to me, is part of the whole, this is part of the movie that just happened to be done in CGI. as far as Im concerned it's the first 10 minutes of reloaded. lastly, to deal with your concern of it being cgi...number 1, it is really well done, its not like a cartoon like "kid's story". some parts of that are as real if not more real than some cgi scenes from the film, so don't worry about that. its like if you were going to make a rarities bootleg music cdr, you would include all the b-sides you could find, not just the ones that fit best with the other songs...i dont have a number 2...

4. in this scene during the meeting:
"Neo: Who was that?
Wurm: How did you know someone was here?
Corrupt: He gave you this. He said you set him free.
Wurm: Is everything all right, sir?
Neo: The meeting is over, retreat to your exits. Agents are coming.
Corrupt: Agents?
Neo: Go.
Neo: Hiya, fellas.
[agent 1] It's him.
[agent 2] The Anomaly.
[agent 3] Do we proceed?
[agent 2] Yes.
[agent 3] He is still...
[agent 1]...only human.

[OR PERHAPS A FEW FIGHTING SHOTS LATER]
INT. Meeting Room (Matrix). This is clearly after the scene in Reloaded, because both Trinity and Morpheus are there, but not Neo. Corrupt comes running down the stairs."

it is my opinion that you should cut to the ETM senes after the agents punch the door once or twice...otherwise you are cutting away from the battle and cutting the flow...

5. the scene with the keymaker locked up and talking to merv...it is not important at all to the film, but for the sake of completion, it should be left in...it gives you an idea as to why he is so willing to have the twins try and kill him after he had been his prisoner for so long. you would think he wouldnt want the keymaker hurt, but that is not the case, this at least gives you insight into the fact that he has run out of patience with him...

6. i agree that the 9 hour/ 3 hour scene shold be moved to later in the film like you suggested

7. the ending showing the oracle...maybe show that somehow a few shots before the "only one survivor" then showing bane ending. the reason being that the bane ending is somewhat more dramatic, and the oracle just sitting there is kind of anti-climatic.

otherwise, great job. again, these are just my opinions and i think this is gonna be a great edit and i cant wait to see it.

immediately after neo fights the three agents outside the meeting...he flies off to find the oracle....at this point you cut to:
( Zion Virtual Control. )
Zion Virtual Control Operator: This is Zion control to the Logos. Gate 3 is standing down. Your path is cleared to Bay 2. Welcome home.
( Logos interior. )
Niobe: Thank you, Control. It's good to be home. Ghost: Damn good.
( Logos enters Zion. )
Niobe: Look at that. Almost a full house. Ghost: No Neb. Niobe: If I was Morpheus, I wouldn' be in a hurry to get back here. Ghost: What do you think the commander will do? Niobe: I don't know, but I'm staying as far away from that as I can.
( Somebody knocks on Niobe's door, it's Lock. )
Lock: I need a moment with you. Niobe: I literally just walked in. Lock: Please ?
( Both are sitting down on chairs. )
Lock: I presume that you were present during this latest act of insubordination ? Niobe: I was. Lock: You were in charge of the recall. How could you let this happen ? Niobe: What do you expect me to do, shoot him ? Lock: Yeah, you'd save me the trouble. Niobe: Jason, you can have my testimony at the debriefing. Lock: I don't want your testimony. also, I wanted to ask you were going to include the part during the meeting where Neo tells Wurm and Corrupt to warn the others, then it cuts to ETM footage of them running downstairs and saying its the Feds and they scatter, then cuts back to reloaded footage with Neo about to fight the 3 agents...its kind of a tough cut.

as far as merging the scripts for ETM and reloaded to make them make sense. I have a copy that I did as well if you would like it. Here are some possible suggestions that I used for the things you wanted to do.
1. to include the conversation voice-over ghost has with trinity...you could start the voiceover after the rave/sex scene, right after morpheus says good night Zion, sweet dreams, and segway this talk into the scene of them sitting together and having trinity thanking ghost for the talk...
2. to have the oracle talk to niobe (again it cant be both niobe and ghost and i feel niobe's talk is more important) you cuold put this after t he scene where they realize the emp went off:
"Roland: What was that ? Man: I think it was an EMP. Roland: How ? Man: No idea, but right now we can't reach 11, 4, or 7." cause Niobe gets a call that the oracle wants to see her, then cut to where neo is bac k on the ship telling morpheus the bad news and they run and neo takes out the sentinels and they get picked up by the hammer, then cut to niobe meeintg the oracle, and the go bac kto the hammer and complete the film...
i just want to say i cant wait for this to be done...i love reloaded and cant wait to see it with the added stuff....

just some helpful advice:
there is a complete script at http://mitglied.lycos.de/tonymnyphot/forum/m2_etme.htm. I actually took the time to re-edit the script deleting scenes that would not make sense without the game. If you want that, please let me know and i will send it to you. this site was kind enough to put the film, game and short anime in the proper order. keep in mind though the author of this site takes into account that you have the action sequences from the video game, which would either be impossible to get, or at least wouldnt look right.

Ive spent alot of time thinking about this edit, and watching the scenes from the box set since Ive been hoping someone would do this ever since I played ETM.
At first I wanted every scene, as much as I could get included, even if it didnt make any sense, but then I realized that that wouldnt make it a complete movie, it would make it a choppy mess, so I agree that the only scenes that should be used are the ones that make sense within the confines of the film.
However, I realzied with the proper editing, some scenes can make sense if you take them out of sequence and place them in different points in the movie and edit them and combine them with scenes from the film so that the unseen action could take place during those moments.
But don't be afraid to use the scenes like Niobe and Morpheus entering Zion. They are not completely similiar. It will not be that boring, it will be a complete extended version, and afterall, isnt that the point of making this. Also, on the scenes that are repeated between ghost and niobe, i found the scenes with niobe were more meaningful...both the kiss, and the oracle meeting...what we find out from ghost just isnt that earth shattering.

this is all just my opinion...im nobody special, but like ive said, ive spent a couple years thinking about how this should be put together and I would have done it a while ago, had i the technically ability. saying that...if you just ignore me, i will not take offense. otherwise, good luck, and im asking in advance to please send me a copy

I was wondering if anyone considered recutting Memento so that the movie moves forward instead of backwards. it would take away part of the novelty of the film, but would be sort of interesting to watch it forward...anyone?

that is something to work off of, but like i said, some scenes would have to be rearranged in order to make the scenes make sense.
I could have my re-edit of the script done by sunday, since i would have to watch everything again and it would take a few hours, but, in the meantime, i would like to see other people's opinions of how it should fit.
i like my ideas, but im hoping someone can make it fit better, and then i will try my edit and see how that fits...
and to anyone with interest in this, thanks for any help you want to offer

I dont know if anyone has done this yet, Im aware that there are many re-edits out there, but ive not been able to find this one yet…I would like to see reloaded with “last flight” edited in at the begininning where it should be as well as the scenes from “enter the matrix” edited in where they should be in reloaded. i know this seems dull, and maybe there are those out there that think the last thing they want to do is to make this film longer and more drawn out than it has to be, but i think it is something that should be offered as another version. im the type of person that when one of my favorite bands put out a record, not only do i want that record, but i also want all the bsides to that record. It just makes for a more complete experience for me.
has anyone done this or has anyone been thinking abou it?
