HOW DISNEY CRUISE LINE’S “STAR WARS: HYPERSPACE LOUNGE” WILL TAKE FANS AROUND THE GALAXY

https://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-hyperspace-lounge

“We came up with this idea, ‘the Hyperspace Lounge.’ Think of it like a party ship through the galaxy. We’re jumping to different locations and getting a tour of space, and sampling amazing drinks from those different planets.” In a clever twist, fans will not just be jumping to different planets; they’ll be jumping to different time periods, as well.

“We want to see a little bit of Empire-era Star Destroyers and TIE fighters,” Handke says. “And we want to see the Resistance from the First Order era, the prequel era, a familiar ship from The Mandalorian, and Rogue One.” The illusion will be created via the bar viewport, a widescreen, seven-pane window to the stars.

“The visual effects are all-new for the Disney Wish,” Handke says. “We worked with ILM. Each sequence is almost like a mini-storyline that plays out. You’ll see iconic ships, you’ll see really cool things happen. ILM adds so much eye candy and they take it to a whole other level for us, which is so awesome. They work in all sorts of Easter eggs and little details.”

Some of the galactic destinations that fans can look forward to include Tatooine (set during The Mandalorian), Batuu (“almost a day in the life of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge,” featuring the Star Destroyer from Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Hondo Ohnaka’s ship), and Mustafar (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story era). And Handke reveals one more locale exclusively to StarWars.com: the home of the Ewoks, Endor.

Really wanted to see Empire of Dreams on the big screen and uncensored again.

What are all the differences between the version on disc and the one on Disney+?

Some of the theatrical clips were replaced with SE clips on the D+ version

What CourtlyHades296 said and the Disney+ version also edited out Harrison Ford with a cigarette in his hands. I’m not sure about any other changes off hand.

The disc also includes some great features like The Force Is With Them: The Legacy of Star Wars - which includes James Cameron and Ridley Scott, The Birth of the Lightsaber, and The Characters of Star Wars. All worth watching!

I thought since Empire of Dreams was made after the special editions that it always contained clips from those versions. Has anyone made a list of the changes?

I have no idea. My Star Wars was the original versions of the Star Wars trilogy, plus the EU pre Phantom Menace. I’m a Gen X fan.
I like the original characters and that original world and wanted it to continue. It never did beyond Return of the Jedi. Lucas was obsessed with the idea of the prequels to the point Luke was never revisited as a character.

The books i collected were all Post ROTJ Luke centric.

Do you like The Mandalorian?

Live action GEODE!

I can die happy if this happens.

Geode would probably make the easiest transition to live action. For Bo Katan, Lucasfilm had to hire hair-styling specialists to make Katee Sackhoff a hairpiece as close to the animated version as possible; for Ahsoka, experiments with practical head-tail length had to be conducted. With Geode, you go to the nearest rocky area and take your pick.

I thought you hadn’t read it yet!

Can someone recommend some science fiction or fantasy?

I haven’t read anything new in a couple decades in these genres beyond GRRM.

Once upon a time i used to read every new book my library brought in. Amazingly i was much more busy back then and still found more time to read than i do now.

Its easy to get comfortable and reread stuff you are familiar with. In Lieu of any such recommendations i’ve began re-reading Mary Stewart’s Merlin Trilogy and Le Morte D’Arthur. I never finished the Winchester version and i figure i might as well finish the second half of that. I’ve read the complete Caxton.

Foundation, Foundation and Empire, Second Foundation - Asimov
Snow Crash - Neal Stephenson
Lost Stars - Claudia Gray
The Expanse Series - James S. A. Corey

I’m currently reading The Expanse books, but I just got a copy of The Three Body Problem - Liu Cixin. Can’t wait to get started on it.
