Xbox One Thoughts:

Short answer - fun, but needs more games.

Slightly Longer Answer - I ended up getting it launch day. Got Ryse, BF4, and NFS Rivals. I'm pretty happy with my picks.

Ryse -- What a gorgeous game. I'd be hard pressed to find another game that looks this good at this time. The gameplay is ok, i'm partial with hack n slashers so I've been enjoying it. Just make sure its in small doses otherwise you'll get sick of it in a minute. It's definitely a game to show off to your friends, though.

Battlefield 4 -- More of the same as BF3 but with a few more choices and 60fps for consoles, FINALLY. Been having a ball with this one. The campaign is pretty meh but the multiplayer is where its at. Highly recommend it.

Need for Speed: Rivals -- Game is pretty, arcadey, and loads of fun. Definitely the surprise of the bunch. Just cops and racers duking it out on the road. It's basically a fast paced driving only of GTA5. The way this game does the multiplayer is pretty ingenious. Just drive up to some car and LB and bam you are in a race. quick and easy.

Killer Instinct -- Haven't really played much, but its a fighter. it does have a nostalgia factor to it. Will definitely play more later.

Kinect Sports Rivals -- Surprisingly receptive with the kinect. I'm looking forward to playing this one with my daughter.

All in all, i'm pretty stoked with it. After work tonight, I'm going back on and racing some more dudes.

Finished Halo 4 on Normal last night. Had a great time. I might go back to it to go heroic or legendary if anyone else is game. Definitely curious about the Spartan Ops, so if anyone is game, my Gamertag is FlakeyMusician. The game is everything I thought it was going to be. Very slick. Plays like a well mixed Halo CE & Reach. Speaking of Reach, out of all the Halos I've played, I enjoyed Reach the most. Surprising!

I'm not sure if I'm going to multi on this game just yet. I've had a good time, but I'm on a campaign roll. I finished the previous Halos (except ODST. Don't own it yet), so I might hit up GOW3, Crysis 2, or Syndicate. Those have been on my backlog for quite some time and I'm tired of seeing them in my stack of unfinished games.

I just started playing Crysis 2 on Hard.  My guy seems to be a total wrecking machine, but on the other hand, I pretty much am getting blown away by guys that are 100 yards away.  I don't have a sniper rifle, and the zoom on the guns I do have are decent, but not great.  So I'm finding myself taking cover and engaging in white knuckle shootouts with about half a dozen guys as I move from space to space.  If I get caught in the open, it's pretty much over... which sucks since there is no save feature and the checkpoints can be spread out.

It's fine- it's a way to play a game... But I'm hardly Rambo or Master Chief running and gunning.  Am I playing this game right?

My new projector has a little input lag, so I'm not sure if the game is difficult on its own, or if my new projector is making it more difficult than it should be.

I've been playing the first Crysis getting myself amped for Crysis 2... Loving it still, but man, I'm having pretty much the same trouble you are. I rarely use the armor. Just use the predator camo and hope for the best.

Hells yeah! Free markets be DAMNED!!! WOoOOOOOOoOOOO!!!

Wal-Mart sucks ass! I absolutely HATE getting things cheaper and being able to have my oil changed while I wait for a prescription while I shop for groceries, a new pair of work boots, shampoo, tools, light bulbs, the latest DVD I wanted to buy, and anything else I might need all in one stop. Saves way too much time! Who the hell wants to get an entire days worth of errands done in the course of an hour giving them more time to spend doing what they want with their extra free time while wasting less increasingly expensive gas driving all over town in the process? Ridiculous! Lets close that bitch DOWN! YEAH!

That's why no one else shops there and they don't make any money.

hahahhaha!!!! That's why I shop Amazon. Plus all the vehicle burglaries, robberies, purse snatching, assaults, etc that tend to congregate in the parking lot tend to keep me away from such a sordid place.

That and I'm lazy.

I don't know.

The big bookshops like Borders initially made it impossible for many of the small bookshops to stay open, supermarkets selling best sellers cut price cut into the big shops market, sites like Amazon etc cut into the markets of both large and small shops.

E-Readers aren't really an issue, the economic downturn the increased costs in keeping large buildings open, maintaining and transporting stock and staffing them coupled with the uptake in internet sales are more key (it has the same effect on DVDs, music and games).

With the large bookshops out of the way maybe the smaller shops will have a better chance to provide something different than just best sellers.

People still like the physical shopping experience and still like physical books and small shops are cheaper to run especially on the now largely abandoned high streets of where I'm living.

Totally agree with you here. I've felt for the longest time that large big box book stores have ruined the American landscape as far as diversity is concerned. I realize the small town Andy Griffith-esque days are over, but with Borders closing a huge chunk of stores maybe it will open up these smaller family owned businesses***. I still go to these small bookstores whenever I have a chance, but I hardly ever buy any books, unless they are graphic novels about zombies and hookers.

While we are at it, lets close down Walmart, too.

For the record, I own a Kindle. Love it. Extremely convenient, especially with the job I do. I should feel the same way about Amazon as I do about Walmart and Borders, but I'm biased.

Nice.  That's one of the "Noble" achievements, right?  I don't have it, but I only have 1 left to get out of the standard set.  It's the "Buy something as a Lt Col." one, which I'll probably never get.

Keep playing Headhunters and You'll get the Lt Col one in no time!  Love Headhunters btw. I also like that Skullball game, although I haven't seen it in a while.

Hey!!! When is the next OT Party?! I'm sure I'll get my ass handed to me but I don't care. Having a great time playing this and Halo Wars.

I know this post will garner me very little sympathy... but here-a-goes!

I was stuck on 39,999 nerd points for a couple of weeks!  My wife was pretty amazed I somehow froze it right there.  The last achievement I got I had assumed would push me over 40k, so imagine my chagrin to see it sitting pretty at 39,999.  :(

But I snagged a few easy ones on Yourshape Fitness today, so it's all right now. :)

Speaking of achievements, I just got the Poppin' and Lockin' achievement for Reach last night. I guess it says you have to armor lock to destroy a vehicle to gain the achievement. Well, the level where I gained that achievement had no vehicles whatsoever! But whatever, It was an easy 25 to push me over 2500. Not too shabby for having my Xbox for 1.5 months :)
