STAR WARS: EP V &quot;REVISITED EDITION&quot;<strong>ADYWAN</strong> - <strong>12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW</strong>

I've played about with the binocular shot. Here is the revised version. Make sure you watch the 720p version though because youtubes compression on the SD version is pretty crappy

EDIT: It still looks pretty crappy in HD. Here is a download link for the 720p mkv of this shot:

https://hotfile.com/dl/197542645/33e9732/binocs_revised.mkv.html

That's perfect, it just needed that extra little bit of wobble to make it feel like the binoculars were handheld; the previous version was a little too smooth.

Hoth battle clip is amazing btw, I got chills when I saw the AT-STs, incredible stuff!

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

Just stopping by to say how amazing this project is. I downloaded and watched SW v2 on Weds evening and was utterly blown away. I couldn't imagine this project coming out any better. The few scenes which I knew were lifted from low quality sources (in Mos Eisley etc) looked so much better than I thougth they would and the quality drop really wasn't distracting. The de-SE'd scenes were seamless, incredible work! The colours are wonderful too. This is the best version of SW I have EVER seen and imagine that if (by some miracle) the theatrical cuts ever did get officially released to Blu-ray, they wouldn't look this good. This is as definitive as SW will ever get, I'm pretty sure of that. Incredible work on the 5.1 mix too, h_h.

After watching SW v2 I immediately watched ESB v1 and last night watched RotJ v1. In the latter two films I can see the drop in quality due to the HDTV sources used and look forwarded to these being upgraded this year by you too.

Thank you so much for your efforts, you have made a lot of SW fans very happy :)

Oh yeah, I'm seeding this at MS for as long as possible, already at a 1.5x ratio.

Here comes a package of the required plugins.

Make sure you install the fftw3.dll in your system32 folder. This is a subfolder in your 'Windows' folder.

Hi, does anyone have a backup of this plugin bundle OSJ uploaded? Obviously, it's not online any more since he posted it to megaupload. Would someone be able to stick it on a file share site for me? I'd really apprecuate it. Or could someone list the exact plugins and versions I need to download?

Thanks

Star Wars OT &amp; 1997 Special Edition - Various Projects Info (Released)
Time

@you_too, yes, sorry, contrast. I should have checked my post, that's what I meant to say.

I think I'm used to seeing and prefer seeing a 70s/80s film with a more subdued colour palette. It's like the recent Back to the Future Blu-ray remasters, they're far too colourful for my eyes. Maybe I'm just being old fashioned ;) Modern films have everything cranked up to 11 these days: volume, colour, contrast... older films like Star Wars have a certain style of presentation to them which I don't believe works when remastered to try to emulate a modern release.

But, like you say, dj, these aren't for everyone, and it seems I am in the minority with my views, so congrats on the completion of this project and I totally respect your efforts :) I hope that you may take my suggestion of torrenting just the soundtracks, though, as I'm very excited to be able to add these to my own video remaster.

Thanks again.

Thanks for your efforts, dark jedi and you_too. These experimentations are very valuable in the pursuit of making the best version of the GOUT available to OT fans. Many have stated here how much they love the new colours of your blu v2's. I have to say that, personally, I feel the contrast is far too extreme for my tastes. Using this classic shot as a comparison really highlights the "sunburnt" look to your version:

http://aptirrelevance.com/otscreenshots/screenshots.php?shot=4

I hope you don't take this as a damning criticism from me as everyone appears to favour your colours, but for me it's too much. I'm clearly in the minority but I thought I'd add my voice and say thank you for your efforts all the same.

For those few people who may be in the same boat as myself who may wish to create their own remastered video to their own tastes, would you possibly be able to create a torrent of all of the OT soundtracks you have collected so we may sync them to our own version of the GOUT? You have done an incredible archival job in collecting all of these OT GOUT-synced soundtracks and I would really like them for my own video, but would prefer to not have to download the entire blu-ray release so I may obtain them.

Thanks again.

Hi g-force. I'm just here to ask if you made any more tweaks or improvements to your script, as hinted at in this thread:

http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Squeezing-more-detail-from-the-GOUT/topic/13494/

I've just downloaded dark jedi's blu v2 sample and (with all due respect to dark jedi and you_too for the efforts) I do personally prefer the results obtained from your scripts, especially in respect of the colours. I have an x264 version of each film on my HD using your v4.00 scripts so I'm just seeing if you had made or still plan to make any more tweaks to your v15.00 scripts before I go ahead and render the OT again?

The drive heads are knackered. I was asked if I wanted to pay a further £300 for another/further attempt. But I can afford it. The preliminary versions on YouTube are taken from a DivX render of the final cut pro timeline I did in January. It is only low res. And I had done lots of work since then. I still have the timeline but 80-90% of the media is gone. I am staying fairly positive and the project will be finished... Somehow. Thanks for your support as always. JD

Mate, set up a paypal contribution fund. If it's just the drive heads which are broken, then they should be able to transplant the platters and fix it. I really enjoyed your empire and jedi docs and I'd happily send you a bit of cash towards paying for your drive to be fixed, I suspect many more here would also! :)

I tried to find someone's previous post about the audio drop outs in the climax of the gantry scene and the Falcon's Bespin escape but I couldn't find it in the thread.

Anyway, wanted to let the poster know that I also heard those audio drop outs last night. Has anyone else heard them? They are literally for a single frame each but noticeable.

Chewtobacca: Yep, higher quality (no extra MPEG2 artefacts) and more importantly I have IVTC'd the films so they play at 23.976 fps, so no horrible 3:2 pulldown anymore!

I'll try and make my x264 mkvs available once they're done. I created versions last year using v4 of g-force's scripts, but will be re-doing them with his latest scripts (including RotJ when he releases that). I also hope to collect all of the available mixes for each film (in FLAC for the 2.0 mixes and AC3 for the 5.1 mixes). I'll post when they're ready, could be a few months away yet though.

As far as video quality is concerned, dj is using g-force's scripts to remaster the GOUT for his releases. His v2 of the films use an older version of g-force's scripts but I believe he is going to do a v3 using g-force's most current and best filter scripts. g-force has developed and improved upon the video filtering used by Moth3r in his pwnage edition. If you are wanting a DL DVD version of the remastered GOUT then dj's versions would be good for you, but if you are wanting to use g-force's scripts to remaster the video and encode to some other format other than MPEG2, like myself, then you would be best doing the Avisynth processing yourself.

The Empire Strikes Back &quot;1980 Theatrical version&quot; Reconstruction - Adywan (Released)
Time

Wonderful work, Ady! I watched this last night and it was so enjoyable to see the theatrical cut in such high quality. You sound critical of your re-cut of the Wampa cave scene but, to me, it looked flawless! I don't have a fine eye like some others here, so maybe I'm missing slight inconsistencies, but for me this is better than I could have ever imagined possible for a fan edit reconstruction - really well done!

If you do decide to do a DL version with a couple of slight fixes, there were a couple of audio drop-outs I noticed which you might be able to fix if you wished. The first is about 7 seconds after Vader delivers the line "Join me and together we can rule the galaxy as father and son", where you can hear a slight glitch in the music. The second I noticed was just after Luke falls onto the weather vane; as the piece of trash falls below him towards the clouds there is a very slight audio drop-out of the music again. I don't have the finest eye, but I do have a fine ear ;) I checked both of the mixes you uploaded, the v1 and the v2 with the falcon portal sfx removed and these drop-outs appear in both mixes. They're nothing major but, like I say, if you want to smooth out any other slight errors in the future, I thought I'd bring these to your attention.

Many thanks again, Ady. This is my favourite version of ESB until ESB:R comes out. Good luck with the continuation of the Revisited edit!

While waiting for the final word on the upmix, let me know what formats ppl want/need...
Does anyone really need dts 1536? 768? ac3 640? Or ac3 448 'standard' enough for most? Older stuff reposted?
Just be aware that anything other than 448 kbps ac3 will be ng's only per me.

AC3 448 would be really appreciated here too. Would it also be possible to upload all of the GOUT synced mixes currently available? It would benefit those (including myself) making their own remastered versions of the GOUT using, for example, G-force's scripts. I would really appreciate the PCM 93 LD ripped tracks for each film (which I'm told have better dynamic range than the GOUT AC3 tracks) your AC3 5.1 up-mixes of each of these tracks and also Belbucus' SW Mono Mix in PCM. I don't have newsgroup access, but a torrent/tehparadox upload would be really appreciated.

Many thanks.

P.S. thanks hairy_hen above for the extra description of your work; I was most interested in knowing exactly what sfx edits you created so I could listen for the differences between your mix and the GOUT mix.

hairy_hen, I've just synced the FLAC 2.0 with my GOUT video file and it sounds really good, the end battle scene sounds more dynamic, definitely. What were the main changes you re-created with this mix? What were the altered audio fx edits you did? Is there a list online of the differences between the 70mm and 35mm audio mixes anywhere?

Thanks.
