the star destroyer visible through the window seems to be stuck to the glass
and moves with the window instead of staying with the starfield

i have to say having looked at Davnes007's gif going over and over i can now see what they were going for originally, i've never noticed the sliding hatch before and thought it sort of disintergrated at the saber's touch which is what always bothered me about it.

now i know what i'm supposed to be seeing it seems fine as is. :)

out all night  - get in this morning and everyone and their dog has had a go at this

oh well might as well post it anyway

the problem i see with doing this is that even if a lightsaber can cut through anything there should probably be a drag factor when cutting through armor like that - think qui-gon melting the blast doors in tpm but not so severe. that may make it undo-able. plus ady didn't seem too keen on this idea iirc. still he's changed his mind before :)

it was me who made the green laser test clip, just to see if i could. try it yourself it's not that hard.

ady is replacing every laser shot anyway so changing the colour from there is even easier than using the search function, so it is purely from a preference for leaving them red that they will remain red.

just for fun, i did some 3d work on angels slave 1 mock up

the top pair of images you need to cross your eyes until you see a third image between the two (sounds weird i know, but it does work - like the opposite of a magic eye pic)

next up is an old style red/cyan anaglyph

and lastly a shiny new amber/blue image for those of you in america who have your superbowl 3d glasses still kicking around the place

hope you enjoy - i'll do some more if they're popular - maybe on ady's images if he doesn't mind

i can understand some people getting the arsehole with others for labouring the same point over and over, but talking about the other movies in this thread is essential - it is a saga after all.

i can imagine GL saying to all his crew don't mention the OT while i'm making the PT is the kind of disjointed thinking that got us in this mess in the first place.

so sure, we all want the focus of this thread to be TESB but remember we need to look at the big picture as well.

jeez i'm stunned any of you can have such a strong opinion of ady's plans for the PT

sure he's wanting to cut a lot out, but remember why he wanted to buy that hi-def camcorder so bad rather than rent one.... so he can film new elements and sequences for the PT as well

with it being so many years off yet, who knows where we'll be on a tech level by then, miracles can happen - maybe someone will invent some software that will convincingly map an original actors voice over a new/better delivery of a line by someone who can deliver the lines with the energy that is so sadly absent from most of the PT. or quick/accurate/convincing method of lip syncing existing footage to whole new lines.

i haven't watched any fanedits of the PT yet, purely because from what i've read none of them are radical enough to save them. i hope by the time ady reaches them the sky will be the limit with what is achievable, because ripping them to shreds barely begins to cover what's needed.

if you like the PT as is good for you - but don't try to put ady off revisiting them and giving the majority (i think) of us the only hope we have of ever getting something remotely close to the PT we always wanted.

also TESB:R is looking real good so far :)

the skiving a work part was made up in an emergency moment at work when i just had to post a pic of ponda bobas flipper during the great flipper debate - i was advocating the glowing bits on the stump and could not wait 'til i got home
