Discussion: Most Realistic Replica Lightsaber - Recommendations?
Time

I am looking for an Anakin (III)/Luke Skywalker (IV, V) replica lightsaber to eventually be placed in a nice glass case used as a decoration/conversation piece among my other Star Wars memorabilia. I know there have been many different manufacturers of some nice realistic ones.  For people who have them, which would you recommend: ICONS, MASTER REPLICAS, or HASBRO?

Thanks!!

Complete list of all home releases?
Time

Has anyone compiled or stated on a list of all home releases of Star Wards on any media medium (beta/VHS/laserdisc/DVD/bluray)? This would included the releases for each individual movie or box sets, the year, and media released on.

I think I may be missing a few DVDs and VHS releases from my collection.

Reasoning Behind Changes from Release to Release
Time

After looking over doubleofive’s amazing screen shots of the various versions of the film, I begin to wonder why some changes, especially the small ones, are made.  I have read through some interviews from GL that explain the pretty major SE changes, mostly due to his vision but limited technology/funding at the time, but what about the other minor changes.

Could anyone direct me to anything that possibly interviews other people besides GL that have say in the changes and the reasoning behind them.

Are there any other Theatrical vs SE debates besides forum discussions and the documentary “The People VS George Lucas” on Netflix available? Any books out there?

Quote: Collector's Limited Edition - The Radio Drama
Time

I was looking through some of my old childhood memorabilia from my mother’s house, and I came across a Collector’s Limited Edition of the Entire Original Trilogy Radio Drama Labeled #4187.  Did some quick research and found out this program original aired on NPR and only 7500 copies of this Collector’s Limited Edition was made.  Ebay showed 1 copy going for $150 on buy it now.

Any idea what is is worth? Is this a hot-ticket item at all for Star Wars collectibles?

New to the Special Editions Debate - 2008 SE Question
Time

As a wedding gift, I received a copy of the "Complete Saga" on Blu-Ray.  After watching the episodes IV, V, and VI on Blu-Ray it reminded me of my distaste for all of the special effects added in 2004.  After a bit of googling, I came across this amazing site with so much information, so much that I got lost in it and immersed myself for a few hours.

As my Star Wars geekiness starts to awaken in me again, I want to watch my Original trilogy on VHS from 1995, location unknown.  I started to research and dive into the various released versions of the Original Trilogy and fan edits that have been created to achieve that "original theatrical" look.

My question is how is the original/theatrical releases different that the 6-disc box set that was released in 2008? It appears that for each movie, 1 disk is the re-made with special effects from 2004 , and then 1 disc with the "original release."

Can any one point me to a website/reference describing each of the releases in detail?  Is it worth me purchasing the 6-disc set from 2008 to achieve that "original release" look - or are the fan-edits out there a better solution?

Thanks, and I look forward to posting more in this forum, as my geekiness starts to come back!

Thanks!!
