I want to know when those 4K remasters of Star Wars done by Reliance Media Works will see the light of day. They were finished in 2014 and Disney is pushing out 4K titles in 2018 one of which being The Last Jedi so hopefully more 4K Star Wars releases will follow.
Interesting that this Tweet uses a pre-2004 version of the binary sunset. Judging from the lighting of the closeup of the two suns this looks like it’s from the ‘97 SE.

Atleast the US theatrical version of The Shining will one day get a 4K release and hopefully it’ll be more sharper looking than the Blu-Ray

You miss the point completely. It’s not an anti-OOT message. With TLJ Disney has made it clear, that it’s out with the old and in with the new. In that climate an OOT release seems less likely than ever before.
There’s a significant split in the fanbase, now that TLJ has been seen by the fans. No way are they going to solely bank on new films that many have zero interest in.

Yes, a film written and directed by a man who literally called the Special Editions the “cartoon versions” was definitely made with a veiled anti-OOT message.

Besides, if they care enough to put out a remastered vinyl of the original Star Wars 77 soundtrack complete with the original track listing, then I don’t think an oot release is too much of a stretch
In a way The Last Jedi is Disney’s veiled message, that we will probably never see the OOT released on (4K) bluray or any other form. TLJ’s message is clear. Out with the old, and in with the new. As a fan you either adapt or die. The OOT is the posterboy for the first generation of Star Wars fans. It represents the old, perhaps even the ancient, and not the new. Disney will put all their marketing power in selling this next generation Star Wars. The OOT has no place in this.

They’re going to have to steer clear of the home release windows for TLJ and Solo so as not to compete with themselves, which leaves two (possibly three) choices within the next couple years:
They actually cut the prices of the other Star Wars Blu-Rays when Force Awakens and Rogue One hit home video. I’m sure people would by 4K prequel and 4K OT sets with their copy of The Last Jedi
The other blu-rays had been out for nearly half a decade by that point. They slashed the price to move a few more units since they knew people would be vulnerable to suggestion while buying the new movies.
I just don’t get the whole competition thing you mentioned. If I see a movie that I love being sold at a higher price than I movie I find to be ok/mediocre, I’m gonna buy the movie I enjoy more even if it costs way more than the other title

Due to how Snoke, Luke, Leia and Rey were handled, I give the Last Jedi a 4/10.

I give it points for looking pretty and featuring exceptional performances from the main actors involved. I also didn’t find the score to be particularly exciting.
If George was that adamant about nobody seeing the original versions, then the 2006 DVDs and subsequent reissues of said discs wouldn’t have existed

Seeing that news about the Disney-Fox deal is supposed to be revealed today when TLJ also releases, I’m thinking (and fervently hoping) this bodes well for 4K OUT prospects. It’s to much of a coincidence for it to not mean something significant for SW.
