DTS audio preservation .... UPDATE 07 May 2015 ... Work In Progress

I also had a chance to synch The Mummy HD-DVD to DTS cinema audio and it was another fun experience.

This is one I am very eager to watch/listen to.  I've got the Ultimate Edition DVD which was the only DVD of the film to have a DTS... Came out to help promote The Mummy Returns.

Anyway........  The DTS track just kills, but since I never got a chance to see this one on the big screen, it will be fun to check out the original DTS mix.  :)

Thanks so much for everything!!  :-D

I'm not sure if this is the place to do it... or if it's already been requested... or if I should even ask at all... But I'm just gonna go for it...  Has anyone seen a Cinema DTS disc for the original Shrek?  The DTS track on my DVD sounds worlds better to me than the Dolby track, but I'd imange the Cinema DTS disc greatly improves upon its DVD counterpart.

Info Wanted: DTS Tracks on Superbit DVD's... Original Cinema DTS mixes???

I have the xXx Superbit.  The DTS track, while good, still to me lacked the overall impact of the theatrical Dolby Digital I saw.  I mean, I did see it in a really well tuned cinema, but still, nothing has yet to match just how good that mix was.

I'd love to get the cinema DTS disc synced to the Blu-ray and compare.

The AC3 track from the DVDs was pathetic.

I read in one of those other forums about Cinema DTS preservations that the DTS disc used with xXx in the theaters has been found.  Haven't seen it surface anywhere just yet though...

Yep, that's the same HDTV that's been around for ages. Cropped =(

Every once in a while, Netflix streaming will have an uncropped version of it, but nobody's capturing from Netflix.

It is entirely possible to do so...  There were some captures of the latest season of "Arrested Development" floating around a while back.  (These episodes were exclusive to Netfilx.)  They were captured at 720p and the quality is outstanding.

Unfortunately, I have no idea how one would even go about capturing from Netflix, but somebody sure figured it out...  :-D

Info Wanted: DTS Tracks on Superbit DVD's... Original Cinema DTS mixes???
Time

I’ve been perusing the threads about the preservation of rare/original Cinema DTS tracks for various films, and it got me thinking…

Do any of the Superbit DVD Titles utilize original Cinema DTS mixes?  Or are they simply just yet another remix of a film’s audio for home video?

EDIT: I own the following R1 Superbit Titles…

  • Spider-Man 2
  • xXx
  • S.W.A.T.
  • Desperado
  • Snatch
  • Resident Evil

Help: looking for... 'Skyfall' - 16:9 Aspect Ratio (IMAX Version)
Time

If this is the wrong place for this… or if this topic has already been discussed, please forgive me.

My copy of the DVD/Blu-ray only has the 2:40:1 aspect ratio version.  I realize that is how most folks have experienced the movie in the theaters and at home…  My first experience with the movie was on opening weekend in IMAX and really loved the expanded imagery in the IMAX version.  I was a little sad that the Bluray/DVD release did not include the IMAX version alongside the 2:40:1 version.

I’ve searched high and low for anything pointing me in the right direction, but no such luck.  I remembered reading some time back that the the film is being shown in 16:9 on the Sky network in the UK.  Can anyone confirm or deny this?  That’s the only time I ever found anything indicating the 16:9 version being shown for the home market.
