I know there was a project that was being worked on some time ago that was to create a version of the entire trilogy, without the shifting aspect ratio, with the theatrical color timing, and with the Cinema DTS track… But it has been a while since I have read anything about it.
Not only that… but part 2-7 have modern intros and outros and those need fixed too. Annoying as fuck. Parts 2 and 3’s intros are easily fixed cause Part 1 on BD retains it’s original New Line intro and 1-3 had the same intro. Still need HD outros and the intros for part 4-7.
So the whole set is mess.😦 why am i not surprised if only it had the mono tracks on top of the fixes it needs as well on a side note too bad the blu rays don’t have the deleted scenes etc. that were on the laserdisc oh and the uncut versions of 1,5,and 6.😦
It’s my understanding that no uncut version of 5 is available (or possible) in HD for some reason or another… Though I believe that there is a DVD version floating around out there somewhere…

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe HBO has a full screen policy… They want all films to occupy the entire screen. So I think some films end up cropped and others are shown in open matte. Can’t confirm it though as I do not have that channel.
I could be wrong, but I believe I saw a blu-ray copy of Innerspace just yesterday at a local shop.

I still thought the BD sound was better than what I heard in theaters. The theater sound didn’t have enough bass, punch, or impact. The star wars theme in the opening crawl didn’t have near the impact I remember it having when I saw ROTS in the same theater. Although it is possible the speakers haven’t been maintained well.
Well, I for one thought the theme sounded kinda weak both in the theater, on the soundtrack CD and on the BD. I think it’s just a matter of the performance itself lacking intensity.
Though I agree with your point about dialogue volume. I tend to find in live action movies (animated films rarely have this issue) that I have to put the subtitles for the hard of hearing on, simply because the dialogue is often drowned out by the sound-effects. And for what it’s worth, I did not have this problem in TFA.
Part of the reason for the perceived lack of intensity is because John Williams did not conduct the opening theme for TFA. They instead brought in a guest conductor, Gustavo Dudamel, who is the conductor for the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

@ROFLRICK - So when you compress movies with those settings, about how big are your files, generally? I only ask because while I can play video files on my BD player via USB, it only has a 4 GB limit.

In the meantime, just from looking at those particular stills and some on the Blu-Ray site against my recording, I can already confirm that it’s much closer to the MPEG-2 than the “waxworks” UHE but it’s brighter than either of them. It looks pretty grainy to me and there’s a number of scratches and flecks for that matter too.
You’ll be able to judge for yourselves soon enough.

Quick update for all you guys waiting for the 5.1 cinema dts tracks to go with these Star Wars V2.2 Semi-Specialised Editions. I’ve been working on these pretty intensely over the last fews days and am happy to report that the cinema dts tracks for Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back are done. I should have Return of the Jedi finished as well by the end of today.
Do you all prefer that I upload these cinema dts-hd 5.1 tracks seperately to myspleen which means you’ll be able to get them much quicker but you’ll have to do the muxing yourself or do you prefer that I upload them straight away as the whole release with the video and original PCM track included? Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back should be around 18-19gb and Return of the Jedi 20-21gb.

I know that for recent Toy Story releases, they have altered the opening studio title cards (new Disney logo and an addition of the Pixar jumping lamp). The original VHS I know had an old Disney title card which faded into the sky blue wallpaper of Andy’s room… I don’t remember if the 35mm had that opening as it’s been 20 years since I saw it, haha.
Those regraded frames look excellent! Can't wait to check out the whole film this way! :-D

@RU.08 - Might I ask... Do you have one preferred version for each of the three films?
Also, more of a curiosity than anything else... Do each of the releases of the respective films have different audio dubs? Or are they all the same dub?
