Info: True Romance - Tarantino re-edit
Time
True romance was ok like most of Tarantinos scripts or movies.

His best work was Pulp Fiction which i would class as a modern day classic.

True Romance reminded far too much of Terence Malicks Badlands with martin sheen and sissy spacek just with some pop culture and Elvis thrown in.

Reservoir Dogs was the same, the far east movie he based it on City on fire was far better and starred Chow Yun Fat there was also references to Taking of Pelham 123.(mr brown , mr orange etc )

His script doctoring in Crimson Tide even sticks out a mile with the Silver surfer and Star trek references.

Info Wanted & Help: looking for... The lost footage of 2001
Time
I read somewhere recently that all remaining unused footage from kubricks films was destroyed.
This was one of Kubricks own wishes, so looks like no more footage from any of his films will ever come to light.
If i can find the link where this was stated i will post it hear

Seeing as kubrick always had final cut and delivered the films to Warner in its finished state,i doubt theres much additional footage over at Warners.

Info: Where do you draw the line?
Time
Blade runner has been deleted for sometime on all formats

so seeing as the movie isn`t available on retail format , this HDTV release no matter if it downloaded or shared via disc for a small fee isn`t affecting Warner Bros profit margins in anyway.

I have somewhere a post that i copied from a cartoon trading forum where a chap who trades in unreleased Warner cartoons had a phonecall from Warner Bros Piracy Manager and he stated himself that the company had no real issues with people trading unavailable back catalogue as they have much bigger fish to fry and they are trying to release as much of their back catalogue as fast as possible.

The new special edition whenever it comes out might possibly be a completely new cut compared to the dirs cut or theatrical so these need to be preserved in the best quality possible. the same applies to the original Star Wars releases

DigitalFreak should be thanked for releasing such a nice set and for putting the work in to author it etc

Blade Runner HDTV (Released)
Time
There is no way you can compare this to the PAL Warners Bros release.

That had to be one of the worse dvd transfers ive seen. so much noise and grain it was very off putting

This HDTV transfer is gorgeous and must of come from a completely different master , there is so much more detail in the print.

digitalfreaknyc you are a star and this will do very nicely til they sort out the rights issues

Here is a link to a review of the Region 2 dvd with screencaps etc : Region 2 dvd review
