Custom Cover & Disc Art for AVCHD Trilogy Set
Time

Thanks. I’m glad you like it. I actually made a couple of last minute changes to the back cover which I prefer. I corrected the spelling of Despecialized to match the front and spine and replaced the film images to make it look like a Slip Cover.
The only thing I don’t like is the inconsistent Jedi logo between the front/disc and the image on the back, but I think using the linear logo on the front would look odd next to two block logos.

I know you can’t post links, but can anyone point me in the direction of SW & ESB GRINDHOUSE Editions? I’m assuming RotJ is pending…?

Yes, it’s pending.

The other two are on myspleen and probably tehparadox. I’m pretty sure SW was on public trackers, too. If ESB was at one point, I would be surprised if the public has kept it seeded this long. Both are on usenet.

OK. Thanks. I’ll check Paradox. What are they exactly? Are they like the Tarantino film with missing frames and scratches etc?

Frames are missing at the ends/starts of reels, but it’s not too noticeable (they are at scene changes of course). Yes. ESB especially looks like an old, worn film (because it is). SW had a lot of cleanup, but there are lots of small scratches and dirt if you look closely. There’s plenty more info in Team Negative’s threads.

Ah. It’s TN-1’s? Already downloaded SW, saw the huge scratch at the start over R2 and deleted it. I’ll stick with Harmy’s.

The RoTJ isn’t their’s, but yeah, sounds like 35mm prints are not for you.

I don’t mind them…if it’s the cinema or it’s the only version available, in in a High-Def, Clear quality age I’d want to see the best available. I’m not a purist.

This is amazing! May I ask why the ROTJ v2.5 file size is 19.7GB? I just want to watch the film itself and I curious why the files so huge

It’s encoded to be BD25-compliant, so the file size is huge because it takes advantage of the space on a 25GB disc.

Interesting… It seems to me that the majority of people watching it would be doing so digitally (since it’s a web file). Will he be releasing it in a smaller digital format?

Not at all. I burned to disc and watched through my BD Player to TV.

I agree! That’s why I was trying to explain that my reply was perhaps a bit snarky because it was first written in response to the rude FB comments and then only copied here. I welcome constructive feedback and I do actually agree, that some of the shots are a tad too dark - it just pisses me of when someone on FB says it looks disgusting just from seeing a few images in the gallery.
I remember when putting a new release out was such a joyous thing for me, because this was the only place it got discussed and this place and people here are frickin’ awesome, and now I just need to learn to live with the harsh reality of the social media mayhem 😄

I love you Harmy!!

Video will be slightly higher (slightly higher bitrate), but the biggest difference is audio - the MKV includes higher quality main soundtrack (lossless, I believe - at least in the cases of SW and ESB) and several more tracks for different languages.

So not REALLY worth the investment in a Blu-Ray burner then? Sound isn’t amassive issue to me as I only play through a sound bar or TV Speakers anyway.

I work in a theatre and got some friends together to watch SW 2.5 AVCHD on the BIG screen. I couldn’t A-B it with the MKV, but I seriously had ZERO complaints. Not sure if it’s worth the investment. Unless you want the extra gigs to be able to have a BR with a fancy menu and extras, etc…

Nah. I’ll stick with the AVCDH copies I have then.

What do you guys think?

It doesn’t say Despecialized because quite frankly I want to ignore that the SEs exist, and it could be used for the Grindhouse or SSEs.

It’s cool. But it also doesn’t acknowledge the great work Harmy has done. The official ones (and others that people have done) have tried to put Harmy’s name or logo on them somewhere.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE…when will you release it???

I think everyone is excited… I know I’ve been checking the boards multiple times a day for a release announcement. However, since the despecialized editions are labors of love and not official, we all have to wait until Harmy feels that his final product is ready. Be patient and you will be rewarded.

Harmy, and others here, do amazing work and their efforts are always well worth the wait!

I get that. I do. And my “Please, please, please” was tongue in cheek.

If there’s any way to stop this guy from getting a copy, I’ll endorse it.

Excuse me! Thanks for the welcome. I’m only asking as 3 days ago it was said it would released Sunday (today). I’m just asking when that might be as I’m not online all the time to see any announcements!!

Again. Thanks. That links to a google document which links to the place to download, and that only has the Workprint. I was just asking where or when I could download it.

Patience you must have, my young padawan. The new version is going to be released today.

But I wanna see it!!! Argh!!! Do we know if the subtitle issue has been fixed from the Workprint? Leia/Bousche and Jabba’s lines.
