I have started working on the french ESB crawl. Vielen Dank an Laserschwert who share with me the template he use to make the ANH crawl.

Here is the first version of the crawl redone. It's not perfect and the layers don't always move correctly, but it's a first step.

What do you think about the colors of the letters ? Is ESB using the same color as ANH ? In the scan I made from the VHS and LD, the letters are more yellow, less orange.

Hi. Not sure it can help because it's captured with my video recorder and it's not easy to capture the good colors, but here is a short video from my french 16mm reel (les aventuriers de l'arche perdue).

I have listened to the audio. It sound very good. There are missing bass cartainly because of the 100Hz high pass filter mentionned in poita's link.

I make a quick sync with the GOUT. Here it is :

I compared the waveform between the GOUT track (up) and the 16mm track (down). Here it is between 6:32 and 7:20

The 16mm looks more compressed but less limited. Strange.

I've tried to sync it with the GOUT and it's quite a pain in the ass to do, it seems to have a bunch of missing frames...

I will try it too. Can't wait to be at home tonight to listen to the audio.

Another vidéo : ROJ subtitles taken from the Laserdisc and a TV broadcast (4:3 pan&scan). The laserdisc subtitles seems to be the original subtitles.

 The picture is too dark and the compression doesn't help, but the starfield is here.

Is there any news ? Not really.

I plan to make a new release of ANH based on Harmy's 2.5 and to make a release of ESB. But I'm waiting to have good materials. I will hopefully soon obtain good scans of french 16mm reels of ANH and ESB. Then I will be able to made a perfect crawl and ending credits for the two movie and perfect subtitles for the Greedo sequence.

For the moment I'm waiting about theses scans.

I don't think this edit is available in 1080p. 720p only.

Ok I have it for the french tracks :

1987 TV diffusion : No music

1989 1st LD Release : No music

1991 VHS release : No Music

1995 LD THX : Music

2004 DVD Mix : No music

2006 GOUT : No music

So only the LD THX release have the music in the trash compactor sequence. I know that the THX release have little more differences, some sentences are missing, but I never took the time to notice them all.
