Star Wars Despecialized Editions - Custom Bluray Set (Released)
Time

I was thinking about trying to avoid re-inventing the wheel. I know that njvc had a lot of difficulty with Encore based on previous posts in this topic and was hoping to avoid having those problems if me or someone else decided to continue where he left off when the 1080p version of Harmy’s releases become a reality. I’ve authored a few DVDs but have yet to tackle any Blu-rays. I guess the only info we have is what was shared here so it would require a lot of experimenting to get to the quality njvc achieved.

Does anyone have access to the original Encore project files so changes and improvements can be done? Is it a possibility to get the files without the assets to re-create the original project and re-compile it if new versions of the Despecialized Editions are released? I have access to Encore CS6 and I wouldn’t be surprised if several on this forum also has it.

It would be up to njvc to do so, but quite frankly, I don’t think he should. How many minor tweaks of the same thing would we see released?

Odds are that a 1080p release would be larger, so some extras would need to be cut. Basically, a new version should be designed and created by someone at that point.

It’s really quite upsetting to see these sets selling on Ebay. I put in so many hours creating it, happy to share it freely with fellow fans, but to see guys making big bucks off it… Really quite depressing. And I feel like this exposes me to risk of Disney’s wrath in a way I had not feared before.

I have no answer to this, just sharing the feels.

I’m sure Disney is perceptive enough to recognized these guys are profiteers and you are in no way responsible for their actions. You have done a wonderful job and if you haven’t gotten any flack from Disney so far I doubt very much you will get any.

Do you have a recommended BD burner? Thanks

I bought mine over 4 years ago, it was an LG WH12LS30 (still going strong), but it’s so old it’s obsolete and now discontinued. Since I’ve had good experiences with my LG, I’d recommend the LG WH16NS40. It looks like it’s the new equivalent, just better (although I don’t have any first-hand experience with it.) At ~60 bucks on Amazon, it’s much cheaper than my lifetime SLysoft license was, and looks to be very highly rated.

My first post here. I have an LG BH16NS40 and I’ve had nothing but trouble with it. I’ve had to replace it once when it died and I’ve had limited success in burning Blu-ray images to it. I am also not running a super recent computer. I wonder if there’s a minimum acceptable processor to do Blu-ray stuff with. Mine is a Q9550 Quad Core with 8 gigs of RAM from quite a few years back.
