Phineasbg/ HIGHLANDER II: Extended Versions (Released)
Time

I'm currently trying to pick up the remaining songs from the H2 movie that's not on the soundtrack CD. I have the H2 soundtrack plus the combo H1-H2-H3 soundtrack as well as the An Emotional Fish CD with "That Demon Jive" on it. I also have the Gerry Laffy CD on its way with "Shoot 'em down" on it. I've tried contacting Meredith Brooks regarding the otherwise unreleased "One Breath Away" but am still awaiting response.

The piece from "Götterdämmerung" with soloist Birgit Nilsson (incorrectly spelled Nillson in the credits) is on my want list but it demands a fairly big chunk of money (even more if you decide to get the whole Niebelungen set...).

There are still a few songs missing which appear to be completely unattainable.

Idea & Info: Highlander (1985) US theatrical cut, anyone?

Now that I watched one of the trailers more closely, I see this appeared in it, so I could be wrong on this point...

UNLESS of course, this special effect was unfinished in the US cut and tweaked in the international versions (since trailers aren't always identical to the theatrical release of a film).

I'd have to go back and check my US non-DC Vhs tape over the summer...

Please do, I just checked the French cut as the effects on the last beheading on that were different to that of the international/US DC but checking the Fasil quickening that was the same as all other cuts.

It finished dl'ing yesterday and I've kept seeding it.
I'll keep on seeding it but pause for a bit later on so I can make a DVD of it. I'm still seeding the other Highlander II versions made available earlier as well. They deserve that since they are probably as close to the original intent had they've had the opportunity to finish and edit it as they had planned.
Now I have nearly all official cuts of all the Highlander movies.

As I recall, the director's cut had this cheesy exploding-glass transition to the WWII flashback. I always thought this was added in the 90's for the director's cut DVD. Is the same transition in the french cut from the 80's?

It was in the European cut prior to the release of the US director's cut. Can't speak for the French cut.

A preservation project perhaps?
Anyone thought about doing the US theatrical of Highlander? There's a French 2-DVD set out with the second disc supposedly containing the US theatrical cut in widescreen albeit with French audio. Is anyone game for taking the audio off the US laserdisc and merging that with the French DVD, assuming someone could get their hands on these?

the french disc does NOT include the Us cut. it includes the European Cut and the French cut (shorter than the int. cut but longer than the Us Cut). The french cut has the WWII flashback.

Ah, thanks. Oh well, guess not. But now we have a fourth version...

Hmm, that doesn't sound quite right, the European version does have that line. The US Director's cut doesn't though.

DELAYED- Ft two weeks, a massive re-edit will begin shorlty.

Recently discovered footage has allowed us to restore the film in 2:35.1 complete as well as restoring the Euro version...

Thanks to William Tracker for tracking it down ;-)

Don't mind the delay. The better the edit, the happier I'll be.
I greatly appreciate the work you're putting down on this!

That's odd, what does the German cut have that the others don't have I wonder. Seeing as the Germans like to cut up movies it would be more likely to go the other way... shorter!
The timings given by the Norwegian and Swedish ratings bureaus differed slightly but that could be from counting blank frames so hard to say if there were longer cuts than the one given to the UK board for review.
Norwegian Media Authority 1:40:43
Statens Biografbyrå (Sweden) 1:40:33

Does the German movie ratings board have an online site and is it searchable?
