To the Creators/Faneditors who are creating DUAL-LAYER discs!

And a little update for everyone that is wondering.....

It is possible to add DVD_ROM/JACKET_P/CONTENT folders with PGCEdit... where you have your AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders, just add DVD_ROM folder or JACKET_P folder or even CONTENT folder... when you follow that guide I posted it will ask you if you want to include them in the making of the .ISO file...... it is that simple... try it out yourself..... easy peasy.....

To the Creators/Faneditors who are creating DUAL-LAYER discs!
Time
I see that here is alot of confusion about DUAL-LAYER burning.

I recommend every FANEDITOR/CREATOR that is releasing DUAL-LAYER discs to the community that he/she reads this guide "How to burn Dual Layer Disks with PgcEdit" which is found here: http://www.videohelp.com/~r0lZ/pgcedit/third_party/blutach/dl_burning_with_pgcedit.htm

I have followed that guide and succesfully burnt 20 or so dual-layer discs. And they are working in every player I have tried them on so far, the players range from cheap stuff to real expensive players from Pioneer and Harmann-Kardon.

A thing that you yourself can do to minimize the risk for incompatibality with your player is to BIT-SET DVD+R DL discs as DVD-ROM, this is made thru the help of DVDDecrypter or IMGBURN.
!!!!!YOU MAY NEED TO UPDATE YOUR FIRMWARE TO A MORE RECENT VERSION OR EVEN A CRACKED/PATCHED ONE, TO GET THE ABILITY TO BIT-SET!!!!!!!

!!!!!!!!!SOME BURNERS DOES NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO BIT-SET, BUT MOST HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And as a sidenote, DVD-R DL is not preffered because thoose discs does not have the ability to be BIT-SET to DVD-ROM, which decreases their compatability.

So all in all... follow the mentioned guide and BIT-SET your DVD+R DL discs to DVD-ROM. So far my succses rate is 100%. And as I said before, ALL THESE CREATORS OF DUAL-LAYER DISCS NEED/HAVE/MUST follow the above guide. PLEASE DO SO! YOU WILL MINIMIZE THE RISK OF ERRORS ON THE RECIEVING END.

!!!!!!!!DO NOT BURN ON DVD-R DL DISCS!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!DO NOT BURN ON DVD-R DL DISCS!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!DO NOT BURN ON DVD-R DL DISCS!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!DO NOT BURN ON DVD-R DL DISCS!!!!!!!!!

The mastering of the BR transfer that Farsight has done is fine, have you seen the original LD of this movie?
I give you cred for your effort Farsight!

Zion I love your release it is SO good! I have one little request tho.... when I was snooping around over at mf.com I saw that there was a dvd cover and a disc cover made for this rel. which are pretty damn fine... is there a possibility that those covers could be upped somewhere? There links are dead over at mf.com......

Thanks a bunch for your splendid work!

I´m considering to by Canon ip4000 or Epson R200 - do you know if european printers (Canon) have been disabled, cdr wise that is?
Canon does have cheaper inks, but Epson does more dips (does it really matter...?).

Also what kind of paper is best for insert/cover printing. High gloss photo paper (200 or more) is out of the guestion cause it will crack when bent - right? Matte, Gloss, Semi gloss, ...?!

The european versions of the Canon Pixma series are not limited in any way... I have the Canon IP4000 and it works like a charm, both printing on high gloss paper and printing on printable media such as CDR/DVDR.

I don't think these are the ones you're looking for. But they are great too.

Episode IV A New Hope
Episode V The Empire Strikes Back
Episode VI Return of the Jedi

Did you do those scans yourself?

Yes.

Strange, did you scan them from the Executor VHS-box artwork? Those small markings with "ALVIN" is that the creator of the artwork or is it you that have "marked" them?
