The original canyon had some texture to the miniature and walls which gave it a good sense of scale. The revisited canyon looks to only have one size of texture on it, and it's so big relative to the ships it no longer looks convincing.

I'm also a long time lurker who generally loves what you do Adywan, Thank you.

But I feel compelled to add to the sentiment above, I really think the new canyon walls are a step backwards.  I appreciate you've spent time and effort to get it right but I think they look too modellish and as Synnove suggested it is the texturing that lets it down.

I'm not sure how to fix it, perhaps attacking it with some rough sandpaper in bits or something else to age/weather the sharp cuts on the rocks.

Anyway, it's your baby and I completely understand if you ignore this and I mean no offence to your amazing work.

Is the theater where you saw Star Wars still standing ?
Time

I saw ESB & RotJ in Falkirk. The building is still there, but it's now a nightclub. The cinema had closed many years ago, so when it reopened, hugely refurbished it was great to go in and recognise specific areas inside that retained the original features.

The steps up to cinema 1 when the excitement built as you approached the auditorium etc.

i'm just glad george 'hates the OT' lucas is out of the picture. these films will bring balance back to the star wars universe.

I hope so, but the more I think about Disney films the more I think Star Wars will become average/generic sci-fi movies. Nothing to make future films stand out.

(mind you, that's still an improvement on the prequels)

something I always wondered about the PT
Time

"If I lived on Tatooine I'd try to come up with something fun to do then, even though the podrace as a story element is boring and ridicilous and shouldn't exist just because of that."

You mean like bullseying (spelling?) womp rats with his T-16.

Unfortunately I think the real answer to the original post is poor decisions by GL when he made the special editions & prequels.

(someone needs to get OBIWAN37 in here to provide some balance!)

What is/was the best SW Game ever, on any platform?
Time

I also loved Star Wars Supremacy. I spent days (weeks?) playing it.

There's a guy "Slocket" on SW:rebellion

trying to remake the game but update it.

I also played Knights of the Old Republic and Empire at War to death.

Great games, KotOR was so absorbing, it felt like a "real" Star Wars story. They could be the basis for excellent films, sufficiently different from the original trilogy.
