I wish I was immortal. Not because I want to necessarily want to live forever, I just want to experience history. There’s so much that happened from the 19th century to the 21st, and I’ll only ever be able to give it a cursory glance in a history book, or in a 20 minute video on the evolution of music. There’s only so much you can learn when viewing things from above. There are things that will happen in my lifetime that may seem inconsequential, but will have an effect on history that I’ll never be able to experience. I can only sit here and wonder what the future will be like, never knowing what kind of secrets of the universe we as a species are able to uncover.
Ironically, if I were immortal, I’d probably be terribly bored and wishing I wasn’t.
I always have found the question of being immortal fascinating. Because the thought of having to live forever with no end sounds somewhat terrifying and the thought of resting for eternity kind of sounds fitting. But when we are all on our death beds we most likely would always want more time (depending on your state of living). But as stated earlier, fascinating topic to discuss.
