And surely the Heroes would have had an open-top Bus tour of all the capital cities of the major planets? Tickertape parades, keys to cities handed over (well, alright, peace globes), medals given out (Chewies tally to DOUBLE), and pardons written (Han is a fugitive for murder after all).

The Force is with you Adywan!

I hated the galaxy celebrating...news certainly travelled fast! If that's to remain in ROTJ:R then a scene needs to be added which shows the message being relayed...I mean, parties were going on everywhere! These would have taken ages to prepare and organize...I mean come on!

The ewok ending, and the original music, were always much better. Scrap the SE celebrations!

Wow, I didn't realize how turguise the scenes with Yoda were, Adywan, are you trying to make it look as close as possible to the theatrical version, or are you doing the coloring to your own taste? By the way, I don't know if they spell color "colour" in the UK, but here in the USA it is spelt "color".

Turguise? Turquoise I guess you mean :-)   That's how the colour should be spelled.

If you use something even as simple as Nero Vision, you can get a fair DVD from an AVI. If you are only bothered about watching the film, in stereo, and in as good quality as off-air (i.e literally just "to see it") then this is an easy a quick(ish) way of doing it. I do it frequently for kids films (well-known CG-animations and fairy tales) and it works fine, (and has the added bonus of I dont really care if the disc gets scratched by over-zealous 4-year-old hands!), you might get the ocassional judder, but you can get away with it.

But absolutely, download the ISO of the DVD-9 anyway and then use DVD shrink to fit it to a DVD-5 if needed. It's definitely the definitive version.

"Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps."

Might want to skip the crisps, though.

I've always preferred the word "crisps" to "chips." Even though I'm from the U.S., for some reason crisps sound so much tastier. One of those weird word preferences, I guess.

It's funny, my boss was born in England, but has been in Canada since he was 8, so he's nearly 100% Canadian by now and has been for decades, but every once in a while, he'll use some term like 'packet of crisps' and I think 'not a bag of chips?!' Haha.

Yep, Chips are definitely things you have with Fish, and Crisps are best found in a noisy bag!

Well the first colour pass is now complete. And the final colour pass is about 20% finished. The Hoth battle is a nightmare to try and remove the blue tint yet keep the blue skys. lots of masking to do  so that's going to take weeks alone to do, so still a way off before i get to the FX work.

Good o! Have 20 minutes to enjoy life mate, crack a beer and then get to it!

Seriously, you're doing an amazing job.

Looking very cool Master Ady! Though the sabers in those first shots still look skinny a la SE 97/2004. Will you beef them up a bit?

Did you say earlier in the thread that the reflections would be fixed in the "running to catch Han" scenes with the really small balcony outside? You could also raise the height of the balcony maybe to make it look like they wouldnt tumble over!

And yes bingo I think you're right, was a ring modulator! I had a mynocks suckin on my power cables (aka Fruit Bats) outside my window - noisy buggers!

Look how a helmet changed voices in ROTJ for Leia as Boussh....evrything was "Yo-to!" like a Galactic Teletubbie!

Oh man... The voice work in Jedi is so lazy! They re-use Greedo lines verbatim, "Boussh" has an incredibly limited vocabulary, Bib Fortuna doesn't know whether to speak Huttese or "basic", etc... It would be cool if Ady had the exact method to make Boussh's voice and record something new. :p

yeah, something like a low vocoder passed thru a resonator, like a 303...would love to have a go if i had the stuff!

the only thing i hate about the celebrations is the "weessa free" line. I'm keeping the celebrations

Ditto. And good! ;) Of all the SE additions, I thought the celebrations were a nice touch. I like the new music, too.

Thinking back to when I read through this whole thread, I gotta say that at least the naysayers now don't seem as nasty as they used to be. I hope no one is harrassing you about ESB:R now like did happen with ANH:R.

I have to say the new music at the end of ROTJ didnt do anything for me...it sounds almost depressing. The original built up to a climax then launched straight into the end titles theme...it was brilliant. If you could find a way to include the original music and keep the SE celebrations (minus gungan garbage) that would be a great compromise.

But who am I to question the God of Fanedits!

PS what the hell has happened to fanedit.org? I cant get on to it at all for the last day or so.

Hello there!

6: ROTS music (Anakin Sith Eyes on Mustafar - DANN.....DANN....DANN..DAAAAAN, you might know what I mean!) when Vader reveals who he is. Oh, good one would be to make Luke's fall look a bit more like he's trying to commit suicide rather than just "Hey, jumping down this bottomless pit is a really good idea coz I'll be sucked into a garbage chute. I've only just begun my Jedi training but I just know I'll be alright!" and Vader's slightly lame reaction...almost looks like he's going "Oh FFS..."....maybe Luke should close his eyes a la Ben Kenobi on DS1, and Vader should reach a bit more or kneel on the deck, uselessly trying to catch him. Different POV.

I always felt like Luke's fall was more his way of saying "I'd rather die than join you".  He just happen to get lucky and fall into a chute instead of falling to his death.  And Vader's reaction was perfect, imo.  Almost like "Damn, I thought for sure he'd join me instead of killing himself".

That's exactly what it is, but i thought as the opportunity is now here to analyse and have someone possibly change a 99.99% perfect film, its just one thought I had in many!

Hello there!

I haven't read all 125 pages of this thread but I want to just make a couple of suggestions....that may be already taken into account.

1: IMPORTANT!: Someone posted in the original suggestions list that the Star Destroyer should be shown arriving in Bespin. DO NOT DO THIS unless it is AFTER the reveal of Vader at the dinner. Might sound a bit of a no-brainer, and teaching you to suck Lucas's grandmothers eggs, but I felt it quite strongly to make the point!

2: Revised Hoth base explosion. You might be doing this already.

3: EXECUTOR: When the Emperor is talking to Vader, maybe have a cut to Palpatine's office on Coruscant (if that's where he indeed is), with a little holo of Vader kneeling, and Vader's voice distorted a la holo transmissions.

4: Make the Space Slug look like less of a sock puppet! "I never a get a spaceship, never, i never get annyfing..."

5: BESPIN: Maybe change the R2 smoke screen to the Napalm he uses in ROTS. Just a thought...

6: ROTS music (Anakin Sith Eyes on Mustafar - DANN.....DANN....DANN..DAAAAAN, you might know what I mean!) when Vader reveals who he is. Different POV.

7: END: The last shot of them looking out the window towards the galaxy, has always grated me. To be able to view a galaxy at that scale and detail you would have to be THOUSANDS of LIGHT YEARS away. Maybe that's the point, but then you see the whole fleet turn and disappear as the credits fade in....but they're turning away from the galaxy, and its not even in sight! Are they heading for the EU!?!? I dont really know what to suggest, as space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is, etc.

To be honest I cant believe I'm even thinking about changes to the greatest SW, even Sci-fi, film. But, if somebody as talented as you is doing it, I'm fairly unworried!

As an aside, are you a disgruntled ILM employee? This is far better than walking into the office with an Uzi!

EDIT: OK I spent the last couple of hours scanning this thread, all kudos on your decision on the music. And someone already said almost word-for-word what I said about the slug muppet!
