Its great to see so many people rallying up to get the original trilogy released on DVD! However, I think many people have forgotten about another film our good friend George Lucas is keeping from us; of course I'm talking about that feathered fiend Howard the Duck! This is a film with many fans and no DVD released ever set to come (Mr. Lucas said in an interview that it would never be released because there would be no market for it).
Like the original trilogy, Howard's only digital outing was on Laserdisc, but unlike the trilogy, the Howard the Duck laserdisc is VERY rare. There are only a few laserdiscs still floating around - and as I live in the UK I have never clapped eyes on one. So a few months ago I bought a copy of eBay - and to be honest the quality left a lot to the imagination.
So, I decided to put my tallent of remastering old videos into remastering Howard the Duck. The result was a much sharper image with little picture interferance. But it is still a little shiny and, well, Video-like. It looks like I need a new maser source, and thats why I posted this message. Has anyone out there had better luck with copies of Howard the Duck?
