Help Wanted: 'LONE WOLF & CUB' - Restoring the audio from laserdisc? Blu-Ray audio is whacked!
Time

I received the discs today. Haven't really dug into them in depth but here's what I can say so far:

The 6 movies are spread across 3 BD25 discs with 2 movies per disc. That makes each movie only around 10gb.

I prefer the German picture over the DNR'd Animeigo mess but with only 10gb per movie don't expect any miracles.

The best part is the horrible tinny sound of the Animeigo release appears to be gone! Part 4 was horrible on the Animeigo disc, but it sounds fine on the German version.

Unfortunately the German release doesn't have English subs so I will have to make a custom disc with English subs.

Here's a few screenshots.

These films were recently released on blu-ray in Germany. They appear to have far less DNR than the animeigo release. No idea on the audio though. I went ahead and ordered a copy from amazon.de so it should be here in a few weeks. I'll report back. I'm pretty sure they don't have English subs so I'll have to use the subs from the animeigo release.

Im fairly new to the forum and bought a BR burner just for this release. Imagine the joy when my PS3 played it for 3 minutes and then threw up an error message. I took it over to a friends with a standard BR player and it's fine....

That's interesting, my burned copy would not play on my cousin's standalone sony player but it played fine on his ps3 (with one small hiccup in the middle of the film)

Matt, Your version of Hard Boiled is awesome! Recently I watched Hard Boiled with my cousin who'd never seen it before. Lucky for him, he got to watch your version and not that dragon dynasty trash. Aside from seeing a theatrical print he got to experience the movie in the best way possible, and needless to say- its one of his favorite films now. Thanks for all of your hard work.

IMGBURN works great. just make sure you set the options accordingly.

That is a VERY outdated guide for burning BDs with Imgburn.  The latest version of Imgburn is much more user friendly and intuitive.  That guide I feel would only serve to confuse and make things more difficult than they should be.

Edit:  Okay, that might have been a tad harsh.  Parts of the guide will be helpful but the rest I still say is like what I said above.

You're right. I didn't realize the new version of imgburn automatically recognizes a BDMV folder and sets the options for you.

If you guys are getting slow speeds on the torrent it's probably because you aren't connectable. I'm seeding it from a seedbox with very fast upload speed. There are currently 18 leechers and 6 are showing not connectable for whatever reason.

Team blu rocks!! First of all, the packaging on this thing is INSANE. I love it!! It is now the highlight of my blu-ray collection!

I recently forced myself to sit through the crappy universal blu-ray because I knew I would appreciate Team Blu's release even more with the universal abomination fresh in my mind. The TB release is a revelation compared to the crappy universal. The color timing is perfect, the audio is glorious, and the whole package is just wonderful.
