i’ll try, i don’t have much of a visual eye, i’m better with words. i also don’t know anything about comics, but i’ve been watching rections/reviews to the movie on youtube. if you have anything you think should be changed let me know
i’d like to try it, but first i need to teach myself how to edit videos
basically, off the top of my head, this becomes the list of scenes:
enchantress intro
waller with bruce wayne
-diablo intro
-short, modified crock intro
-boomerang intro
-deadshot intro
-full harley and joker backstory and intro
-waller restaurant meeting with cuts of team members fighting in prison
-joker finds griggs
-waller pentagon meeting
-prison feedings and waller goes to prison
-enchantress gets out around flag and gets her brother going and all fighting military shots in midway city and 1st helicopter crash
-team is implanted and assembled at staging area
-joker goes to lab
-quiet helicopter landing and come across first minions and dead slipknot and first engagement
-team walk and talk
-second engagement in building
-get waller out
-harley tries to escape
-waller helicopter crash
-moving on and finding secrets
-extended bar scene where everybody tells their story except katana
-enchantress fight scenes
-prison ending
there would be a lot of little bits you’d have to add in to fix plot problems as well, but that’s the idea
and what you would end up with would be oddly closer to a comic book, with reading over visuals
except if you put new subs over a foreign language dub i think you can haphazardly make almost a completely new movie. it would just take some work. and it will unfortunately become the essence of telling rather than showing, but i think i could make it work, with a few seconds of joker on the boat footage from that skrillex music video and something to use as boomerang’s dream sequence at the end. most of the problems with the movie are deranged editing and plot holes
i’ve had some ideas for a little while now about how i would re-edit suicide squad. it makes me angry that they basically released an unfinished movie. i think the only way to fix it is to take a foreign dub of the movie, say french, and then make new english subs that would have to be about half re-written lines. combine that with a whole bunch of editing and you’d be about 90% of the way to a good movie, the last 10% would require actual reshoots. but, i don’t know the first thing about video editing.
