Episode III: Revenge of the Ridiculousness
Time

Well, maybe only put in the "Who'd though Darth Vader was Luke Skywalkers father!" right after the hand-cutting noise.  Oooor, use soundbite from Lisa's Wedding. Cut it to sound something like "Wow! What an ending. I must've seen it...twice!" during the duel and the "Who'd thought Darth Vader was Luke Skywalker's father!" after the hand-cut.
Made a file of it if you want it :)

Episode III: Revenge of the Ridiculousness
Time

Thing is, does it really need to be a time loop? A practical joker having MANY alarm clocks waking Anakin up before each of his actions, helping him reach that level of madness required to become a true sith. My line of thinking went something like waking up before the council scene, opera scene, Palpy's confession scene, killing Mace scene, attacking Jedi temple scene and finally before going to Mustafar. And that whole massacre could be accompanied by the Polka- growing silent by each person Anakin kills. So when he wakes up after being put in the suit the timing should be something like we hear the different radio voices when we see Palpatines wicked smile while Vader starts heading towards that Noooo.
Had these ideas just stuck in my head so I had to let them out.
What ever you do Frink- I'm looking forward to the end result. Might just take a look at the earlier ones this weekend....and most likely Groundhog Day ;)
Cheers!

Random memories from 1977-83
Time

I remember when RotJ came out, was 8 at the time. First I read some articles about it in the Swedish popcult-magazine OKEJ. Some time later my nephew had seen it and had gotten the soundtrack from his dad. He told about the movie in great detail showing the photos in the inlay poster, and the music was really getting to me- as had the E.T. dito done one year earlier. That xmas I got that cassette - book thingie of RotJ, and the fandom was set in motion.
However, in october '84 I finally got to see SW in  monochrome full length glory, and I was stuck! :)

Where were you in '83? ROTJ 30th anniversary 5/25/83-5/25/13
Time

I never saw it back then. My nephew went to see it and got the soundtrack  which made me interested. The pictures on the sleeve and the included poster were exciting. Then I just got hints of footage until about a year later when saw ANH for the first time when it was broadcast on Swedish TV. And mind you, we had a black and white TV set. Then I got stuck ;) I only got to see the originals on the VHS releases during the 80's.

When/Why did you become an OT purist?
Time

To answer the initial question; Think I've always been. I remember seeing the SE at the local cinema thinking "This doesn't sound or look right" about all three. Even though I did think that the additions to the final ANH battle was kind of cool, it ended up as a "meh" in my mind. And I kind of had that feeling confirmed when I bought the WS VHS set. So up until the DVDs came out I stuck to my original widescreen editions of the trilogy and the SE just sat there collecting dust.

And then we got the GOUT and all, and I discovered OT - forums and well, here I am, purist to the heart. And a fan of fan edits ;)
Cheers all!

Star Wars OT & 1997 Special Edition - Various Projects Info (Released)
Time

The first televised version of ANH in Sweden did seem to have the mono mix, and in that Luke's line "what good will it do us if he gets himself killed? Come on!"sounds different to all other versions I've seen.

In the cell bay shootout Chewie's rifle sounds like the other blasters, except for the last shot we see him shoot, where it's got a stunblast-esque sound to it.

And the blast that nearly hits Leia as she's jumping into the garbage chute is more powerful.

Greetings! Jambe, what you've done is truly magnificent! And as I have seen the nine parts you've posted on the Tube, I do wonder a little thing. You've given the viewer the opportunity to hear the variations in the sound mix. And in the upcoming part is that scene where Luke says "what good will it do us if he gets himself killed? Come on!".

I do have a recording from a version that did feature the "mono-Beru", and "Blast it Wedge", and that particular line sounds somewhat different to all the releases I've seen ever since. Is this included now? it wasn't in your preliminar version. Another little difference in this mix is the sound of the blast that almost hits Leia as she jumps into the garbage chute, it sounds a bit more powerful.

And as I come to think of it, the sound of Chewie's blaster in the shootout is a bit different as well.

Cheers!

Correct me if I'm wrong (I'm just going off of a Youtube video I watched), but the infamous "Wilhelm Scream" is present in The Empire Strikes Back, but it's barely audible (When Chewbacca throws the Storm Trooper off the ledge at the Bespin Freezing Chamber). This is just a fun little suggestion, but it would be nice to have the scream louder so you can actually hear it or insert it into a different scene. (Hoth maybe?)

Ah, hello there. Long time lurker, first time poster, well almost at least.

The Wilhelm scream IS actually in the Hoth battle, when that "radar-laser" cannon gets fried in the beginning of the battle.
