STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

All this reminds me of a line from the end of "Driving Miss Daisy"...

"How you know how I see less'n you can look out my eyes?"

Everyone's perception of color is slightly different. Everyone's monitor displays color slightly different. Everyone has a different personal preference of what's the "right" color of something.

Bottom line is that no matter how finely Ady tunes the colors, someone isn't going to like it for some reason. When he finally releases it and you're playing it on your TV, if you think the colors aren't right, that's your problem, not his. Adjust the settings on your TV and make a preset for it.

You do realise this will be quoted out of context when you are taken for a show trial to the planet of the Slot Loaders.

You need to take most reviews with a grain of salt. People are very quick to complain but slow to praise. Also, you don't know how technically adept some people are and how they treat electronics. It could have broken because of their own incompetence, some abuse they heaved on it or some other kind of damage they caused but don't want to admit because then they wouldn't be able to get their refund.

That aside, there are basic models of the better brands coming down in price more and more and I'm sure you'll find some deals here and there over the next few holiday shopping weeks.

I like the movement of the second version but lose the rocky texture - keep it smooth like V1.

Also, in both versions, when the "A" comes at the camera, don't have the camera go through the surface of it. Think of the letters as solid objects. Have the camera go under or through the opening in the center.

He also just walked through a battle area with smoke and various other kinds of particle debris in the air. Dust sticks to anything and everything.

(C'mon - I'm sure there are some smart people around here who can see where I'm going with this. Don't make me spell it out for you.)

I've never seen the full updated A New Hope but if there is a way to use the Vader suit to add a scene for ANH then It would be great to add a scene where Vader finds out the name of the pilot that destroyed the death star.

You could add a scene right after luke, han and leia walk away from the x-wing celebrating but before the ceremony. Have a scene of Vaders tie fighter landing in the docking bay of a near by star destroyer.

in that scene vader could be told what the name of the pilot who destroyed the death star is.

Hated the fact that vader finds out he has a child off screen. (For those who will watch the old trilogy first they will just think Vader is shocked to her the name Luke SKYWALKER because Vader 'betrayed and Murdered your father'. They will think Vader is thinking of Luke's Father that he had killed (but we know that lukes father....is...VADER nooooooooooo)

NO.

It's no stretch of the imagination to think that some Imperial operative found out who destroyed the Death Star and got word back to Vader at some point. We don't need to see it happen to know it did.

The reason "I am your father!" worked so well in 1980 was BECAUSE you didn't see it coming. Obi-Wan's explanation of it in ROTJ forced you to realize that the world/galaxy isn't as linear and straightforward as you thought it was.

The biggest problem with the PT (and Lucas' changes to the OT, and films today in general) is that they're spoon-feeding the audience every last detail before it's needed. In effect, they're spoiling the end of the movie IN the movie!

Part of what makes a good film good is that you're going along WITH one or more of the characters trying to figure out what's going on. If you have all the necessary information ahead of time, it kills all the mystery and suspense. Watching the film becomes a passive experience rather than an active one.

I have a Sony BDP S-360 and the only problem I've had with it is that the latest firmware update is somehow incompatible with recent 20th Century Fox titles. I couldn't play Avatar, Predators or The A Team. Either there's a bug in their firmware they haven't fixed or Fox is so heavy handed with the copy protection that the player can't read through it.

Have you tried reverting back too an older firmware update?.

How? My only updates have been thru the internet connection on the back of the player. And where would I find an older firmware to revert to?

I guess they deemed it wasn't necessary given that they were so overconfident their technological terror was going to get the job done but to no avail. :p

And I just read that Ady wasn't going to be making any further additions to ANHR:SE so I guess the suggestions I made won't be happening. Ah well.... ;)

I thought I read that he won't make any new changes but he will undo at least one - changing the torture droid's new "mini-saber" back into a standard needle.

Yeah funny how I've never noticed that before. Let's keep it hush hush otherwise Uncle George might go back and replace the Space Slug with CGI lol! ;)

Reminds me of a line from "The Big Bang Theory". They just got the SW BluRay set and are planning on watching it but they keep getting delayed.

Howard: "C'mon, guys, I want to watch it before George Lucas changes it again."

I just hope it doesn't take a long time, but I guess beggars can't be choosey. Lol.

If I had to guess, I'd say that it IS going to take a long time. Remember, many people consider ESB a near-perfect film, and yet look how long ESB:R is taking. Then consider the fact that Ady will probably want to take a much-deserved break once he's finally finished with it (and will most likely do the same after each film he completes), the fact that the he's still got ROTJ:R ahead of him (an even bigger challenge, I'd say), and the HD version of ANH:R after that. Then, finally, consider that Ady has said that the PT edits will be even more extensive than those of the OT and that he hopes to make them almost unrecognizable. In other, they're going to take a LOT of work. I know the phrase "you get what you pay for" doesn't exactly fit here, but I'll offer an alternative: "you get what you wait for"; after all, good things come to those who wait, right? We've got to be patient.

Someone (doubleohfive?) should run the math of how long Ady has spent actually working on the film vs. how much time he's had to put it aside because life interfered (dad, housing, computer problems, etc.) Not that he should have ignored any of the bigger real world issues, but it would give a little better perspective of how much work has gone into it so far.

Actually, they used a Boba Fett figure, (large and small) for all of it. Boba was standing in for the Biker Scout, as an action figure of it didn't exist yet, and was the one character similar enough in design to the scouts.

Point is, it's the same situation - they used another character as a placeholder because the new character's final design was still being worked on at the time.

Was an attempt to halt the conversation, that's what I was replying against. (if that wasn't your intentions, then I misinterpreted, been wrong before) Your first comment about the cgi use is valid and provides an against idea. Now if someone can check the credits for that scene figure out the animator and send them an e-mail...

I wasn't trying to halt the conversation, I was trying to provide an alternate explanation and steer it in a direction other than everyone mindlessly agreeing with each other.

Someone's trying to ignore the evolution of these films.

No, but I do acknowledge the difference between the films as stories and the film making process.

Put it another way - remember the old footage from behind the scenes of Return Of The Jedi where Dennis Muren and someone else (forget who) were using video cameras and Star Wars action figures to plan out the speeder bike chase? For some of those shots, they used a Boba Fett figure instead of a stormtrooper. By your logic, that's proof that the speeder bike sequence in the final film was originally going to have Boba Fett chasing Luke and Leia.

See what I mean about common sense?

LOOK at those images. It's not a CG model of Maul's face under there. It's the flat image of his face from the TPM poster. It's probably just wrapped around a simple tube or ball shape with Grievous's skull over it.

Stop overthinking things and try common sense. I know it's an old fashioned concept that's not very popular anymore but it can still work to your advantage if you know how to do it properly.
