Speaking of overrated shows, I just started watching the first episode of Monty Python’s Flying Circus. Most of the jokes are silly rather than funny. I just don’t get surreal humour. To me it feels like it goes into r/iamveryrandom territory. I much prefer Fawlty Towers as its humour is more “structured” if you catch my drift.

It’s very English and very half a century old. If you’re not into non-sensical humour, you won’t get it I think.

very silly indeed

Cool bike girl only makes me more interested in this series. Plus I feel George Lucas would probably really approve of her bike.

(She’s played by Sophie Thatcher by the way)

So, as it seems we already saw Black Krrsantan, is this girl Dr. Aphra? Or does it not fit with the timeline? (I haven’t read the comics)

(Jedit: checking with Wookieepedia, Aphra would be 33 at the time Boba was Daimyo. Or it’s a flashback, and it’s why she looks so young)

And the gift is an awful entry level turntable? Yikes.

I see them on Amazon (without the Lucasfilm logo) for around $70. I dig it. Wish they’s send me one.

The case may be cool but the mechanical part (the actual turntable) is utter plastic crap. (as seen on the Techmoan YouTube channel)

Star Wars: Visions (animated short films) - a general discussion thread - * SPOILERS *

Eastern influences are here from the beginning: Darth Vader suit is clearly inspired by Samurai armor. But Star Wars isn’t basically a remake of The Hidden Fortress. These two films have a lot in common, but they are also very different, I think.

This remake thing keeps repeated, and it’s bothering me! I’m wondering if it’s been somewhat blown out of proportion to undermine Lucas achievements? Like he’s not that a good movie director, he just copied Akira Kurosawa.
