Even still with all the DNR messes they have given recently with older titles, I am not sure they will give it the love it needs to make it what it should be.

Yeah, transfers of catalog titles have been all over the place.

Still, for example Alien and Aliens, Terminator, Robocop give me hope.

You're right. I'm sure Fox isn't interested in making a boatload of money. It's more advantageous for them to snub Disney and continue trying to sell the 2011 set.

It isn't just the cropping, it's the messing with Kershner's perfectly composed shots. When there is a shot of Lando mucking about with some Falcon panels, why would you crop out half the panels?

 I completely agree - every frame of this film is masterful composition. Breaking the 4th wall? I completely disagree - it's the inside border of the cockpit (?!), and with the composition intact, it in fact feels more cramped than the cropped shot, because uncropped we can better see the round shape of the cockpit. Oh, and it should go without saying that this is MY OPINION...

I downloaded a mt2s of the DVD9 Empire, and I've just watched some of the new workprint on my PC monitor - looks great!!
