The Death Valley N.P. filming locations for Star Wars and Return of the Jedi are only about an hour and a half away from my house. Now that the weather is cooling down, I was thinking about taking a drive out there in a few weeks. Have any of you been to these locations?  I'll be sure to post photos from my expedition when completed.

This webpage below is helping me map out my SW adventure.

 That looks awesome !

The closest locations to me, here in the U.K are from The Phantom Menace. The Naboo woodland and the deleted waterfall scene. So I am quite jealous. I have been to the Matmata location in Tunisia though. Please keep us updated on your adventure.

Info: Anyone else considering TFA figures?
Time

Oh yes..........

I picked up 6 inch Black series IG-88 and Princess Leia Boushh disguise as well.

I got to the London Forbidden Planet store as they opened on the Friday. Someone turned up with a bag full of stuff  that they had got from the Disney Store that must have opened early. I had a look at the Black Series figures from TFA and then went to look for the IG-88 and Leia figures. When I returned to the TFA figures, some guy had emptied a whole rack in to his basket. That's when I made my choice, grabbed the figure and was off........

I will return with the hopes of picking up the Rey figure. It does look pretty good.

Picked up the The Black Series 6 inch series Yoda. Trouble is with these smaller figures in the range as per R2-D2, the price is the same for these as it is for regular size figures. Anyway, looks pretty good. What do ya think ?

I totally forgot where I saw a custom of this and Vader just recently as I normally don't follow modern toy/custom threads. The custom ones used heads from another series, was it Hot Toys or whatever. Anyways, this Yoda was too tall and green and ugly and the custom looked perfect. They also swtiched Vader's helmet and I think R2 was completely from another series, too. The Yoda is pretty bad actually.

Edit: of course I found it immediately after this: http://toyotter.com/2015/06/use-your-brain-brainiac/

That's pretty cool. Yes, there are a few figures in the range that are poor. I never bought R2 D2 because he looked just terrible in a range of figures which up till R2 looked really good. I think Vader's helmet is removable which is why is looks odd on the figure but could be wrong on that. Yoda could have been better I'll agree.

Next up for me is IG88 and Princess Leia Boushh disguise so fingers crossed for those.

I posted a picture somewhere in the General Star Wars discussion a couple of years ago of Luke gazing at the trio of Force ghosts at the end of ROTJ and being surprised to not only see Hayden is Anakin, but also Ewan is Obi-Wan and CPY is Yoda.  I can't find this picture anywhere, and I want to show it to my wife.  I'm sad. :(

It looks like the picture was here.

The picture link is broken (at least for me). Looking at the next page, Doubleoffive put the picture on twitter so it may be retrievable ?

We need this picture back.

Yeah, most of the figures in the range and up coming figures look pretty good.

The Sandtrooper looks awesome as does the soon to be released Bossk which looks very detailed.

The new Luke Jedi could have been better. Details are there but the figure looks plain boring. Princess Leia Slave looks better out of the box but near naked skin is always going to be a problem as the joints show up more.

Overall, a really good collection which seems to be concentrating more on the Original Trilogy. Huzzah !
