Star Wars Insider celebrates the 40th anniversary with...
Time

After arriving at work totally knackered each morning after live streaming Celebration Orlando here in the UK, a guy at work asked me if I had Star Wars on Blu-ray. When I said no and explained why he was really confused. Looked at me in bewilderment. He had no idea at all about the original cuts and to be honest did not care at all. This same guy was confused as to where Rey and Finn were in Rogue One.
There lies our problem I think. The casual viewer. The public who see the films as just another movie to watch and then put to one side.

When you were introduced to Star Wars for the first time
Time

Here in the UK, Star Wars did not arrive until Christmas 1977. It went on general release in January 1978.
Before the film arrived here, many pictures and scenes from the film were appearing in magazines and on the television. I was collecting pictures even before the film came here.

I saw Star Wars sometime early 1978 aged 12 at Guildford Odeon in Surrey. I went back many times as the film was being re-released every school holiday.

Did anyone see this pilot? I don’t remember her… Was she in the film?

Well, I can’t say that I remember this woman specifically, but I do remember there being a female X-Wing pilot in the battle over Scarif.

This character appears in two photos in The Official Collectors Edition magazine.
I looked out for her on my second viewing of the film and could see no sign of her even as background crowd.
