I miss his posts.
Goober for me.
Not for me I'm afraid.
You will always get parked outside the building you want, even on the busiest street there is a place for you right there.
If you have a baby, do not worry about cutting the umbilical cord..there is not one.
I wake up to the U.K quad poster on the wall each morning and memorabilia around the place.
My laptop has a Star Wars wallpaper.
At work, my locker has news cuttings stuck to the door by work colleagues such as 'Drunk dressed as Darth Vader' 'man dressed as Darth Vader holds up a bank', Carrie Fisher says "George told me no underwear in space" and things like that.

The part where George says he didn't "experience" Star Wars like everyone else going to the cinema knowing nothing about it, made me think that's gotta be one big reason why he doesn't understand the importance of preserving the originals.
Yeah, I have just finished watching this and I thought the same thing.
George says that he is 'stubborn' and 'Obstinate'. Really ? I had no idea !
Night Of The Blood Beast (1958)
I only ever had the eight minute 8mm version of this, so last night I watched the whole film.
Fun film about a creature (of the man in a rubber suit variety) who has plans for his species to take over the world using humans as incubaters for the new spawn so we can all live together as many minds in one body.
I'm sorry, but I thought that was awful !
The comments underneath are funnier.
Yoiks !! This avatars spot on.
Here in the U.K, I only ever saw the Hildebrandt poster (quad size) in one cinema. The Chantrell poster was everywhere.
The Hildebrandt poster was used for a while in the newspapers, and I had a t-shirt with that artwork on it.
The voice of the Imperial officer who says "Lord Vader, The battle plans are not aboard this ship..." Sounds also like the voice of General Dodonna.
Hey yeah. I had never thought of that before.
I remember all of the buzz and and a steady flow of pictures coming over here to the U.K.
I started collecting all the pictures I could.
When the film was released here, Star Wars was everywhere. It was like every shop you went into had some sort of merchandise.
Some of the kids at school saw the film before me and had window stickers with 'I've seen Star Wars' on them.
When I went to see the film, I remember coming out of the train station and there was a huge board with the quad poster on it. The cinema was packed out. We had to wait in line all around the pavement to the back of the cinema. The front entrance to the cinema had a big stand up display of Luke,Han and the Princess. I bought the programme that was for sale. There was a support film about bike riders called 'Fast Company'.
Most of the kids at school were swapping the bubble gum cards and I managed to collect the blue and red sets. Thing is..I remember collecting the red before the blue but the blue was released first !
Star Wars played for some time at cinemas only to disappear and then come back for school holidays for a couple of weeks.
I had a nostalgia trip back to the old cinema a few years ago. It's not there anymore. A row of flats now sit in the place of the hallowed ground. Shame. Star Wars changed my life on that spot. Incredible times !

so he knows wolfman was removed?
Oh yes !
I gave a general overview of the situation which I shall continue with when we watch Empire.
My son came over to stay at the weekend and asked to watch the original Star Wars. He is 16years old and this is the first time, even surrounded by all the memorabilia at my place, that he has wanted to watch the film.
He has always sat quite while I rant and rave about George and the state of the franchise.
So, on Sunday he asks to watch the unaltered Star Wars. Before hand, I give him a brief outline on the making of the film and to forget completely anything from the prequels that he may remember.
He sat through the whole film not making a sound. The final verdict.."Brilliant" !
After the film we had a short chat on the changes that have been made to the film since and how George has suppressed the original.
Next up, Empire. He wants to watch the original version again and has not even asked to see any updated scenes yet from any of the films.
If after the trilogy is complete, he will want to ever watch the films again..who knows ? All I know is that he was really happy to watch the original Star Wars and to listen to me going on about the 'good 'ol days !
Sad news.
RIP Ralph
Thanks for everything.
I was 12 years old when Star Wars was released.
I'll be 47 this year and still mad as a hatter over the original trilogy.

Did you actually piss on him? 'Cause I can see how that might upset a bloke.
Mmm. Now that I think about it, I may have done !!

i think once the OOT problem is settled, we need to shift our efforts to educate the young'uns on the glory years.
I agree.
I did try this before though, and it did not go very well. I got in to an argument with this guy who was not around for any of the original films and accused me of pissing on him.
I didn't think I was that old !!!

What's their excuse for the 4th place debut? Because those 3 movies that beat it look pretty lousy so I don't think the "tough competition" excuse works in this case.
I could only read some while biting down on a piece of wood.
Most of it is about the Prequel haters being destroyed.
A stronger man than me can read the rest !!
I actually cannot remember the last time I watched the Special Editions.
I have started to watch Star Wars a few times, but end up turning it off and putting the OOT on instead.
I remember at a convention, Brian Blessed was talking about Sebastian Shaw. Brian asked him at one time what he was doing, and Sebastian said that he was filming something called Star Wars and was playing a charactor called Darth Vader or something ! Brian said to him how fantastic it was to be this cinematic villian, but Sebastian really had not a clue what a great role this was to be. I think it was something that he did in between stage work.
