Celebration V
Time

We went to IV here in LA. It was a blast. The Friday was the best to see the exhibits and the seminars, as Sat and Sun were PACKED. Best part was Boba landing in the main courtyard via jetpack, the Vader Helmets, and all of the great costumes that everyone was wearing. Go Darth Talon!! The two I saw were smokin!!

And yes, I spent WAY too much.

I made a video set to music of all of my pictures (and others from Flickr). Since I didn't ask for their permission, I haven't uploaded it. But I did give them credit at the end.

Song Of The South - many projects, much info & discussion thread (Released)
Time
I have the japanese laserdisc. Would a high-rez photo of the cover help? Unfortunately I'm not sure a screen capture would be a high enough resolution, but if so - let me know and I can try to get one. Since the BBC broadcast is a higher resolution to start with, a screen capture from your material would probably be better than what I have.
I've done some snooping on the web, and all I've found is low-rez stuff as well.

This may have already been posted, but there is some 'rare' behind-the-scenes footage mentioned on songofthesouth dot net. http://www.songofthesouth.net/news/index.html#122306
Perhaps it is too low of resolution to be of any use. Dr m already indicated the stills are too low of resolution. Therefore this post may be irrelevant!!

Wow - this is great. A second disc would be an incredible add-in, and well worth the trouble. From the looks of the other posts (especially Rowman's), this second disc may be more exciting than the movie itself. I also liked the cover art on the previous page, tying this to the Disney collector series.
Dr M - What program are you using for the menus?

POLL: So Who Bought Them & Who Didn't? (the 2006 GOUT DVD release)
Time
I did not purchase them. I have the VHS, the LD set, the LD Definitive set, the LD Special Edition set, the 2004 DVD set, and 4 versions of the LD transfers (Editdroid, Dr. Gonzo, TR47 Cowclops V2, DR M's RTW), plus the OCP movie versions.
So I will wait. The HD versions of this saga will appear, and I will purchase those. For me there is no need to further the collection unless the video resolution changes by an order of magnitude again (ie from VHS to LD, and from LD to DVD).

What is the rarest video in your collection?
Time
As for the Song Of The South, I agree - the Japanese laserdisc has the best video quality. However, there are Japanese subtitles hard-coded during the singing scenes.
I have the two versions of the DVD (one with Martins and Coys Easter egg, other with Coal Black Easter egg) and they are from the Hong Kong laserdisc. Softer picture, but no subtitles. It's similar to a bad VHS copy. But it's all that's currently available as Disney decided not to release it again. There is an extensive thread on this in this sub-forum.
Personally, the cartoon sequences are the best part...... the rest of the movie is rather droll.
I'm looking forward to what Rowman can create from those sources!!

Looks like the laserdiscs aren't worth much on Ebay anymore. Too bad, it was a great format.

I have a lot of LDs - some of my most treasured are
Spinal Tap - Criterion Edition
SOTS - Japanese release
Star Wars Episode 1 - Japanese Release
Dune box set - Japanese release - contains theatrical and TV versions
Aladdin box set - includes a making of disc narrated by John Rhys-Davies, book, etc
Both Star Wars box sets
Pretty much every Disney animated feature LD
and Chopper Chicks in Zombietown!!!

For my DVDs, the faves are the extended LOTR editions and the special slipcase I bought that houses all three.
