Y U NO Guy a racial stereotype?

Oh man that's awesome! My friend and I were there at Disneyworld the night they decommissioned it after Celebration V, we were actually on the very last ride of the night before they shut down. They confirmed at Celebration V that there are going to be multiple stops, I thought they had actually announced all the destinations there but since then they've revealed a few more. In addition, Anthony Daniels had this to say on Twitter the other day:
Come fly Star Tours 52 times to get the full story. Plus Easter eggs!
I am hoping they'll keep the original in the rotation, though with a new ship and captain I don't know how that'd work.
Bigger version of the OT cover art:
Huh, apparently now we have to spam our friends to reveal the secret...

I like to think he has some extremely well preserved and remastered versions of the originals, the ones he makes his kids watch
I wish that were true. I couldn't find it, twitter doesn't keep tweets for very long, but a few months back Katie Lucas actually tweeted how angry she gets when she hears fans say that Han shot first.

yes but, Ady, the difference between colour and sound and 3d movies is that while eventually colour and sound catched on, 3d didn't catch on in the 50's, nor in the 70's or 80's. What makes you think it's gonna catch on now, apart from the technology being ready? people are already tired of it.
You answered your own question. If people had to go see Avatar wearing red and blue paper glasses do you think anyone would have given a shit about 3D? You get those things out of cereal boxes.
Ah, but the system that started off the 3D craze in the fifties (Bwana Devil) used polarized lenses just like we use today.
We've had the technology since the 1930's, it's just never permanently caught on.
Hotlinking problem with your second pic there Duracell.
I'm not much of a fan of the EU novels, my favorites are the original Han and Lando trilogies. But my favorite kind of EU is the comics. The Marvel comics to an extent, they can be fun but I mean the more modern Dark Horse titles. Stuff like Legacy (not related to the novels by the same name) or my all time favorite Dark Times.
You'd be surprised but the comics actually made the prequel era pretty interesting in the Republic series once John Ostrander and Jan Duursema took over. But if you want some excellent vintage era stories you need look no further than the Star Wars daily newspaper strips by Archie Goodwin and Al Williamson published from 1981 to 1984. Fantastically written stories with amazing art to go with it.
Other than that though, I also love the stories in a few of the video games that have come out over the years. The Dark Forces series was great, my personal favorite being Jedi Outcast. So were Bounty Hunter and Republic Commando both prequel era stories that surpassed their source material. Lastly is a sadly overlooked title for the PSP called Lethal Alliance, sure it rehashed an often told story (Death Star Plans) but it did so in an entertainingly epic fashion on a tiny screen.

I wouldn't advise anyone to own that movie, even to use lines from it.
This. I was massively disappointed in it.
@Bob, can't stop laughing at The Jump :-)
The funniest thing about it is that it's based on a true story. Well not the running around in the desert part but they were all based on real people and a real government program.
They said they were working on it and we should hear something soon a while back on their facebook page. Nothing else that I've seen since then.
Let's have him bring back Smell-O-Vision while we're at it. I respect your scholarly work in the Secret History but the idea that abandoning the 24 FPS standard would be a positive change for the film industry is lunacy.
That doesn't change the fact that the kind of movement you get from shooting at 24 FPS is iconic in and of itself. When you start moving to higher speeds the picture starts to feel cheap because you lose that iconic feel.
Shooting digitally is one thing, but it completely loses any film like quality to it if not shot at 24fps. Look at movies like Public Enemies or Collateral, it just ends up looking like video.
The Hobbit is being shot at 48fps? Ugh. =(
Who was it from LFL who said a while back that they've had the transfers done for years now? I wish I'd kept track of that quote.
I dunno, it's been forever since I've seen that film. It was probably just the blow of having my two favorite characters killed off that made me remember it being worse. =P
That's awesome, my only question is why are the walkers marching past the hangar and ion canon?
I'm having a strange stuttering issue. Once the heroes sneak into the death star, every few seconds the film stutters. There was even a moment where it looked like a film reel break where two halves of a frame were on top of each other. Any idea what's causing this?
Just saw this:
J.W. Rinzler via Twitter: "In SR Archives, hit gold mine: original interviews of Richard Marquand and H. Kazanjian--gotta be over 200 pages. Huge for ROTJ book."
That'd be cool but the film I really wish they'd release in widescreen is the original Land Before Time...
I asked Henry Gilroy his opinion on the matter and this was his response:
"Talk like that, always he does. His signature speech style, it is. I always used a rhythm kind of thing and end his speeches with the philosophical thought...like Kasdan."

It was a good show but some Whedon fans can be scary, man. They are super-devoted and organized.
I own this T-shirt - it applies to both Whedon and Star Wars!
And I'm also a member on Whedonesque.org :)
Does anyone else here play any of Telltales games? If not and you're into adventure games, I'd definitely recommend them.
In other gaming related things, I finally got myself a copy of Red Dead Redemption. Living in the actual environment that the game attempts to recreate, I have to say it is SPOT ON! It is an awesome massive open sandbox environment with so much attention to detail, it's just fantastic!
