STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I like the new dynamic establishing shot of Cloud City as well as the added cloud cars right before they enter the dining room. Though I'm a little iffy about the facial movements added to the ugnaught. Other than that, great work all around and thanks for the new clip. =)

What exactly did Han pull?
Time

Han winning the Falcon and what Lando was supposed to be upset about are two separate things. As someone said it's covered in the Crispin books.

Here's how it's described in the appropriate wiki entry:

Solo's heaviest involvement with the fledgling Rebel Alliance occurred when he and other smugglers, including Lando Calrissian and Jarik Solo aided Bria Tharen's Red Hand Squadron in raiding the Ylesian colonies and putting them out of business—a plan endorsed, aided, and supported by Jabba, a business rival of Ylesia. In the subsequent battle, the Alliance forces were victorious, but several smugglers were killed. Han and his smuggler friends were double-crossed by Tharen who seized all the spice and treasures that were to be the smugglers' reward for the Alliance.

Soon afterward, he met with Tharen again during a Hutt-sponsored treasure hunt for the Yavin Vassilika. Once again, Tharen took the prize for the Rebellion, while Solo and his smuggling associates were left with nothing. Solo and Tharen left on poor terms on both occasions, since Solo refused to give up his independent ways and join Tharen in the Alliance. However, most of his fellow smugglers assumed that he had been working with Tharen from the beginning. Even one of his closest friends, Lando Calrissian, said that he never wanted to see him again.

It loses a lot in that bare bones description of the events. The book is actually very good from what I remember. I'd recommend them to anyone. What it also leaves out is that Tharen and Solo were both in love with each other once upon a time. As I said you have to actually read the books to get the full context.

What did you like.......about the '97 Special Editions?
Time

As a whole after all these years I only really like that they took out yub nub at the end of ROTJ. The song they replaced it with isn't that great but definately better than the ewok song.

In regards to tim's post above me, I would have liked the expansion of Cloud City had they stuck to McQuarrie's original architecture instead of completely redesigning it all.

Obi-Wan's lightsaber shorts out when he gets it wet in the swamp after escaping his landing craft. Lightsabers require special modifications, or else they don't work underwater, this is an established EU fact.

This is the reason he is running from the STAPs and why Qui-Gon has to rescue him. I feel like I've seen a deleted scene with this in it, but it may just be that the scene has been described in other sources.

While this might be a nice explanation to the question of why Obi is running for his life, and there may even be a deleted scene (not that I've heard of it)...this is still nowhere in the movie. Therefore, doesn't count.

You can actually see when Obi-wan is submerged here in this cutscene from the TPM video game.

It's also in the script as described here:

Three landing craft slowly descend through the cloud cover of the perpetually gray twilight side of the planet. One by one, the Federation warships land in the eerie swamp.
OBI-WAN's head emerges from the mud of a shallow lake. For in the background, the activities of the invasion force can be seen in the mist.
OBI-WAN takes several deep breaths, then dissapears again under the muddy swamp. Troop Transports (MTT's) emerge from the landing craft.

And:

In the distance, two STAPS burst out of the mist at high speed, chasing
OBI-WAN.

QUI-GON : I have no time for this now...
JAR JAR : Say what?

The two STAPS barrell down on OBI-WAN.

JAR JAR : (cont'd) Oh, nooooo! Weesa ganna....

QUI-GON throws JAR JAR into the mud.

QUI-GON : Stay down!

His head pops up.

JAR JAR : ...dieeee!

The two troops fire laser bolts at OBI-WAN. QUI-GON deflects the bolts back, and the STAPS blow up. One-two. OBI-WAN is exhausted and tries to catch his breath.

OBI-WAN : Sorry, Master, the water fried my weapon.

OBI-WAN pulls out his burnt laser sword handle. QUI-GON inspects it, as JAR JAR pulls himself out of the mud.

QUI-GON : You forgot to turn your power off again, didn't you?

OBI-WAN nods sheeplishly.

QUI-GON : (cont'd) It won't take long to recharge, but this is a lesson I hope you've learned, my young Padawan.
OBI-WAN : Yes, Master.
JAR JAR : Yousa sav-ed my again, hey?
OBI-WAN : What's this?
QUI-GON : A local. Let's go, before more of those droids show up.
JAR JAR : Mure? Mure did you spake??!?

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

So I was finally able to watch this. I don't own a PS3 or blu-ray player so I stuck with the dvd-5 version. Here are some things I picked up on, sorry if they've been covered before:

 • I noticed some tracking issues with the sky on the left hand side during the Eisley road block scene as well as with the wall behind the trooper where the floating droid was erased.
 • The pedestrian phasing between video sources where the Dewback was replaced, though I know that probably can't be helped.

The other two issues I noticed were audio ones. I don't know what was used as the audio source but it seemed as if there was a channel missing or something.

I noticed most when Luke sold his speeder and that stilt alien walked by. In every other audio mix of ANH I've ever heard he always made a weird quackish shout as he walked past but this mix didn't have it all. I also noticed during the trash compactor scene the sound of Chewie banging on the door is missing as well.

Star Wars coming to Blu Ray (UPDATE: August 30 2011, No! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!)
Time

Even with this some people aren't convinced. Remember that amazon review that came up a while back? There's been a guy hanging around the comments for that review and he's just been trying to shoot down anyone who says anything bad about the release. When this evidence was brought up about the transfer this was his response:

"You're right, that single screenshot proves everything!

/sarcasm overload

Who's to say they didn't put the new one through the same "faulty" process. None of us ACTUALLY know."

Does anyone feel like going over there and trying to talking some sense into this guy? =P

1st thought: silly.
But it beeps. Like R2!

You're right! We would all be crazy for not being complete consumer whores and replacing are completely functional 360 consoles with these new ones!

I've been wanting one of the new 360's for practical reasons. Firstly for sound reasons as the new 360's are whisper quiet while my current 360 sounds like a film projector. Secondly, because they're smaller and I tend to switch my console between my room and the living room quite frequently.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I was thinking about the space slug a few weeks ago and I think I've come up with a rather simple solution. I know Ady talked about redoing the space slugs mouth to make it look more cave like because of Leia's line as they're escaping.

But I was thinking instead of completely redoing the entire mouth, why not just darken the inside of the mouth so you can't clearly make out the teeth and gums?

What do you LIKE about the EU?
Time

The films never address it. It's just a given that's been established in the EU ever since George introduced the clone army. The excuse was that the template genetic material they had deteriorated over time after the death of Jango and so after using others for a while they eventually decided to phase out clones and started recruiting efforts. That's my understanding of it anyway. I'm sure someone like Tyrphanax can give you a lot more detailed and accurate account though.
