Hey MeBeJedi,

Your dedication to this project (which will benefit us ALL) is truly great!

A few questions/comments:

How does the detail/sharpness of the image look in comparison to the TR47 and Gonzo versions (I have the Gonzo versions and they look soft to me)?. It's really hard to get a good indication from screen caps.

Here's what I would personally like to see from your versions:
1. Separate regular letterbox AND anamorphic transfers (that way everyone is happy). I'd like both actually!
2. ONLY PCM audio. All remaining space for the the movies themselves.
3. Dual layer discs (+R format works for me ).
4. No doctoring of the actual film credits.

But do put your name in the menus. After all, without your hard work we obviously wouldn't have these to enjoy at all!

Cheers,
The Dean

[EDIT] Actually, I seem to recall him not being so keen on making these anamorphic, due to the overall loss in resolution.

I totally understand why he would prefer a non-anamorphic version. I'm actually hoping he'll do both so we can have the best of both worlds, depending on whether you have a widescreen TV or not.

Hey Laserman,

I was wondering (as I'm sure many others are) how your OT transfers are coming along. The time and care you're putting into these make them sound VERY promising. I'd love a dual-layer set of those (+R or - R, either is good for me) for sure.
I was also wondering if you'd be willing to make an "anamorphic" set out of them as well as a non-enhanced version. Personally I'd like to have both so I can have the best quality possible now and also when I get a widescreen TV in the (hopefully) not too distant future.

Cheers,
The Dean

If anyone could upload a couple of hi-res Empire posters (other than the common one) that would be great! I'm actually looking for ones with ALL THE TEXT AND CREDITS STILL IN TACT. I'd like the "coming to a galaxy..." poster (the black one with Darth's head) and the purple-ish or light blue one. I'd also like them to be of a size that would fit a whole DVD cover (or bigger), I don't want to have to blow anything up.

Thanks.

I saw them on a couple of sites about a year ago, but I just recently bought the dvd's, and you can tell the covers are copies of copies of...etc. I did a search but couldn't find anything. Sorry if this was the wrong place to post this. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! I am interested in oroiginal poster art covers, not the "faces" vhs ones from '95.

Hey jedikiller,

I have reposted my "poster covers" for you and anyone else who wants them in the "Definitive Collection DVD Covers" thread. These are my own originals and not copies of copies... Hope you like them.

Here is a repost of my poster covers for "jedikiller" and anyone else who would like them. I have modified the supplemental cover since last time.
These will only be up for a short time so get 'em while you can.

Sorry, had to take them down. I was using a friend's server and they've got to go.

Is there anyone out there with this capability? That would be PERFECT indeed!

BTW, what programs did you use to create these? I've put off my insert designing longer than I should have, mainly because the programs I was using weren't very flexible. Were the programs you used free? Could anyone else suggest a good program for designing covers and inserts?
Thanks!

Thanks for the compliment Galahad. I used Photoshop to create my covers.

  • NOTHING ELSE (all space devoted to maximum quality)

Is anyone working on a version that fits the bill?

I'll second that svenge! I'd like to see the same thing. With the addition of C-3POs "tractor beam" line put back in and also having them on dual layer discs!

Looking for TESB poster images
Time
Hi fellow forum members,

I am looking for high quality scans (300 dpi - high quality JPG or even TIFF, EPS) of any of the Empie Strikes Back movie posters (not SE) EXCEPT the common one known as 'style A'. The images need to be 4.75" x 7.2" print size (or larger). I can only find small images wherever I look. If anyone could help me out I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

This question/request goes out to anyone working on new transfers of the OT for upcoming dual layer DVDs. Would it be possible to restore C-3PO's bit of dialogue from Star Wars: "The tractor beam is coupled to the main reactor in seven locations. A power loss at one of the terminals will allow the ship to leave."? It is available on an earlier laserdisc edition which has been mentioned often in this forum. And would be a most welcome addition to the Definitive Collection transfer.

Rikter,

I really like your stuff! I was wondering if you'd be able to post the full size source file of "sparkly Vader". I'd very much like to incorporate it into the set of covers I'm currently working on. And thanks for posting the "Revenge" pic as well. I'll make my set available as soon as they're done. Probably next week.

Hey guys, my first post here.

I'm currently getting the torrent versions, which from what I can tell are the "Anamorphic" set everyone here talks about.

I was just wondering for those who have downloaded this same set, is the 7 secs of Leia welding included in this rip, or were the "faulty" LaserDiscs used for this rip, where the footage is missing.

Much appreciated.

RATLSNAKE

I have the "anamorphic" set and yes the Leia welding footage is indeed missing.

Greetings everyone,

This is my first post to this forum and I currently have a set of the "anamorphic" DVDs. I have been reading through all the posts regarding the creation of DVDs based on the Definitive Collection LDs and it sounds as though LASERMAN will be able to make some excellent sets on dual layer discs (in 16:9 as well please!). I was thinking that this would be a good time to create some "Ultimate" editions. These are the following changes I'm suggesting:

Star Wars
- insert (from the SE LD) the full length scene with C3PO's long missing line about the tractor beam (mentioned in earlier posts).
- insert the "Biggs" scene that was added to the SE version (as this is an originally shot scene and not a Lucas defilement).

Empire
- insert the extended Wompa footage.
- and of couse we need the Leia "welding" bit in there.

Jedi
- no changes

I'm guessing this footage from the SE LDs could be colour "corrected" to match the Definitive Edition transfer.
What do you think?
