The Star Wars Original Trilogy on RCA's CED Format
Time

Found this on ebay tonight Star Wars CED Collection and was wondering:

  1. What print are this ?
  2. Does Star Wars have the NONE IV craw.
  3. What audio would they be Mono or Stereo or a 70mm or 35mm mixdown.
  4. Is Ep V and VI in there original movie format ?

I would love to get this be cool to see how they look but I would not know the frist place to start in playing them…

Also I have read that STAR WARS has the a clip thats missing the shot were Luke missing tossing the rope and does it again…be interesting to see if this is true or not…
Just mt 2 cents I aways wanted to ask…

70mm Print info Hope its Useful
Time
I posted this on the 70mm audio area but I thought some maybe will not see it so I posted it here also I hope this is ok:

The 70mm Engagements Of The Original "Star Wars"

This page is useful or maybe not here s whats on the page:

What follows is a listing of 70mm Six-Track Dolby Stereo engagements of "Star Wars" (known today as "Star Wars: Episode IV -- A New Hope"). Standard 35mm engagements, in which the film was also released, have not been included. For historical note, the newspaper advertising hype has been quoted for selected entries.

As one can glean from the list, 70-millimeter engagements were kept to a minimum during the initial wave of release. Despite frequent moviegoer memories to the contrary, it was during the subsequent months of release that most theatres (that ran the film in 70mm) received a 70mm.

Also there is another page called:
May 25, 1977: A Day Long Remembered

Hope this is useful to all wondering about 70mm i found it intresting

Idea & Info: THX "WOW!" Laserdisc
Time

A few years ago a friend my that uses to own a company that sold home audio and tv’s gave me all his laserdisc and a player (player has sibnces died ) and in it there was a Laserdisc titled just “THX” on the covttom “NO FOR RESALE - FOR DEMONSTRATON USE ONLY” I asked my friend what this was, he told me it was a disc they uses to show off how laserdisc looked and sounded and it ran on a loop every day playing chapter 1-3 on side one and sometime they play side 2 chapter 4 but thats all…but he told me chapters 5-20 they uses when they setup a new sound system at the shop or at someone house that expanes why its a bit beat up the spine is split a bit and the back got a few scuffs but the laserdisc it great…

ANYHOW I am posting here to see if anyone that has this is there anyway of puuting everything thats on the Laserdisc to DVDR ?

It was great for testing and seting up my sound systems when I had the laserdisc player but since I do not have one anymore I would love to know if anyone like I said that owns this and knows how to make LD to DVD can they make it ???

Thank you for your time
Chris
