Bingowings, well played, sir! ;)
And A.F., I didn't even know about that one!
Probe Droid

Post away if you know of other Star Wars characters with long lost twins! :)
What a relief!
And welcome back!

Which probably means we get the same edited version of SPFX that has always been on video, or worse yet, the 90's version of Making of Star Wars that replaces William Conrad's original narration. :(
How was SPFX edited?
Some clips from a couple Disney films apparently couldn't be cleared for home video, and were chopped out. This makes Mark Hamill's reference to them later on in the doc rather cryptic. An uncut version recorded from an European broadcast has been spotted on Youtube.

Well it doesn't loon good for the special features disc (disc 9) for anyone hoping that we're going to get high quality versions of the old docs. Looks like Lucas is pulling a 2006 bonus DVD on us again. I've been having some PM's with someone that knows a bit about the sources used for the discs and i was sent this reply (edited to removed clues to identity)
Ady
After your recent conversations with [deleted] i was asked to contact you because i have a little more knowledge on this subject.
I do know that there have been some minor color alterations but i cannot comment on the extent because this was not my department.
The original special feature documentaries will only be on the final disc in the complete saga collection. These, however, could only be presented in standard definition. While there are copies of 16mm prints for these documentaries, there was no green light given to use these for the source of the special features. Instructions were given to find the digital masters which were used for the original release versions. I am unsure if these were the same used for the VHS or laserdisc copies but a colleague informed me that these masters were produced in the 1980's or 1990's (although i cannot confirm this). As far as i am aware no post production work was done on these masters to prepare them for the Blu-Ray collection. Having seen [deleted] at [deleted] there seems to be some issues with digital artefacts caused by the interlaced source used and from the original digital conversion. The same procedure was used for some deleted scenes seen in the Empire of Dreams documentary as these scenes were also taken from older digital copies.
He went on to give me some more information that i cannot post here because it may reveal his identity. So it doesn't look good for all of the original trilogy stuff then :(

Classic Creatures seems to have been edited on broadcast videotape, so there may be no 16mm prints anyway.
Yeah, enough with the hate on SW costumers already!
And it's not like they asked to be included at the expense of any of the stuff we wanted to see. Blame George, not them!
I go to Best Buy last night to buy my copy, (they had the lowest price locally) and there were only four copies left! Go figure...
Is Macabob Toys still around? And did anyone notice they shamelessly traced over the figure of Luke that graced the corner of every cover of Marvel's Star Wars comic?
Let us hope Zombie has not been escorted to the ranch. George has a secret room for special guests!
I wonder sometimes if anyone suggested to him they just dust off the original spacecraft models and shoot them again. They did reshoot the original sandcrawler model.
Heck, they could have made a stop motion/go motion Jabba puppet and it would have looked better than the "Weird Science" Jabba we got.
Some BluRay menus only seem to add to the loading time, and no "just play the damn movie already!" option.

Another thing to like about the EU =D
Really? I thought it was just my own personal canon. Just like I imagine a blaster shot taking down the Gungan who shouts "Weesa Free!". ;)
And I'm still waiting for George to include that shot of Jimmy Smits in old age makeup secretly filmed during production of ROTS...
"Rare documentaries". Rare in that they have been too lazy to release them in any form since the 90's? ;)

Eh, the Wampa, I guess? Eh.
Return:
The ending celebration. I was skeptical at first, but I've come to realize it's a much better ending than "Celebrate the loooooooooove" and the galactic perspective is really nice, particularly in light of the prequels.
But if you realize the Empire is not spread so thin as to collapse in a day, it kind of falls apart. Who the heck are all those people on Cloud City anyway? Everybody fled when the Lando warned the Empire was in town.
Also, people dancing around in 120 degree heat in Mos Eisley is just plain suicidal. Thank goodness the rumor of an added shot of an elderly Watto shedding tears of happiness turned out to be bogus.
And we all know the stormtroopers eventually moved in on the crowds celebrating on Coruscant. ;)
There is a Blu Ray version?
Okay, how did this fly under our radar? ;)

Screw the Blu Rays, this is what I'm buying next month! :P

Not me. I hate store exclusives. Make that shit available to everyone!
I'm not a fan of them either, but at this point it might be the only way we get an official release of "Star Wars to Jedi:The Making of a Saga".
I hope we get wind of some store exclusive bonus discs soon.

Han accidentally finding himself in a system with one inhabited planet, the main city of which is being run by the guy who previously owned the ship he is sitting in, is the sort of galaxy shrinking coincidence that Anchorhead doesn't like and he likes bees.
Maybe the fleet travelled quite a distance with the Falcon sitting on the back of The Avenger (without anyone else in the fleet noticing it)?
Drones of the Empire don't get paid to look out the window. There doesn't seem to be any windows on the back end of a Star Destroyer either. ;)

According to Nookiepedia Bespin is in the Bespin system, the Anoat system is just where the fleet break up and Han pauses to study his options.
So the journey from Hoth to that point (at sub-light speeds) has already taken the Falcon across inter-stella space into another system.
It was a long time ago in another galaxy so maybe they packed star systems a lot closer back then in that place.
One of my old magazines is either in error, or Lucas changed his mind about Bespin's location since the 80's. ;)
The Imperials don't know the Hyperdrive is busted. Admiral Piett even speculates the Falcon "could be half way across the Galaxy by now". This is why the fleet disperses and goes to light speed, leaving the area.
Boba Fett is doing a balancing act trying to get a paycheck from the Empire and Jabba, so he's probably not going to phone Vader up until he's sure where the Falcon is going, and without those four other bounty hunters finding out or being close enough to intervene. It's unlikely he's going to let the Falcon out of his sight.
Bespin is a planet of the Anoat system. (There is no third system that they travel to.) Lando states the mining operation is too small for the Empire to notice or care about.
There is wiggle room on the mother issue. Leia may have been shown a hologram of Padme at some point. Bail Organa and his wife may not have been as evasive on certain questions as Owen and Beru were.
And welcome to the board, wildcats2323.
It would lend credence to the theory no film print of the 2004 versions exist.
Interesting how some of the buildings look like the ones in Cloud City.
