What if TFA is awful?

Well... close enough?

Anyway about TFA, the story should be fine (as long as Kasdan is involved), the actors' performances won't let down being who they are.

My only concerns are all about its genre: if it's your usual Marvel-style blockbuster, I'm not interested, being to me basically the same movie over and over again since the first X-Men movie. Also Abrams: I admit I haven't seen any of his Star Trek movies, but his Mission Impossible 3 was bad enough to me that I'm just a little concerned that TFA will be another action-packed-special-full-of-special-effects-with-ridiculous-plot-twists movie, and... Mr. Verta's rumors about TFA make my concerns actually legit by now.

Guess I'll have to wait and see for myself :D

Ok we now go by hearsay where was Verta's comments posted and or whom said they heard them? Where?

Episode VII: The Force Awakens - Discussion * SPOILER THREAD *

He has awareness, Kylo built and chose to use it. There is a guy who swung a sword with crossguards and it never touched his body. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLzvznM2dDo

Also under the video on his youtube account he commented:

... My theory due to the fact Jet Cooper the cross-guard lightsaber designer on behalf of J.J Abrams and team as well sent me an email thanking me for making this video and a conversion I will not disclose, is it is an artifact from the ancient history of the Sith and Jedi when they wore armour it would have a ancient style not used anymore associated with it much like the regular Lightsaber styles are based on the Japanese Katana it would be based on European Longsword or bastard swords.

Wow! It's a young Bob Falfa! ;)

Seriously though, Lucasfilm should be talking to this guy.

JEDIT: Hard to find an image that won't break!

I really hope they do too. Not that JJ is involved with this Solo stand-alone, but I think I remember reading somewhere that he was impressed with Ingruber; so it sounds like Ingruber is at least for sure known to Lucasfilm.

After listening to this interview with SchmoesKnow https://youtu.be/8Ff3dL1YdS8 he's a really cool guy too I think. In there when he's asked to say something as Harrison Ford, it's awesome how great he is at impromptu, and that is a sign of a great actor! Like other people here, I cannot imagine anyone else as Han Solo but Ford himself (certainly not Chris Pine, even if he's a cool actor too) but this Anthony Ingruber guy, who looks very much like and sounds like Harrison, he is the only one who I can see it working very well with. He gets my full support.

I said the same thing, Han IS Harrison Ford. But if they are going to make a Han Solo movie regardless, I believe this is their guy.

A transient saber that was sacrificed to demonstate the cutting power of assembly line machinery.

God, I hate how unpersonalized and replaceable lightsabers were treated in the PT. Obi-Wan goes through two (or three, if you count Qui-Gon's weapon) before finally getting his signature lightsaber from SW in ROTS (And even then, it's not a film-accurate replica of the SW saber.).

The hilts look basically the same from scene to scene, but there are also differences in the context of the same films. Luke's (Anakin) saber has differences from the ANH one in ESB and even differences from scene to scene in the context of the same movie. Hero (Close up) shots are very few in the context of the films themselves, so it's really no big deal. The main way to spot difference is look at the prop photo books.

Star Wars: Episode VII to be directed by J.J. Abrams **NON SPOILER THREAD**
Time

I wish you would explain in detail how this new film looks unprofessional and what makes you qualified to judge what is or isn't professional? These are the top production values money can buy. Also a big drawing point to this movie is having the old cast back. I'm sure if they didn't have any cast members back there would be a lot of complaining about that too from other folks with opinions just as valid as yours. As Mark Hamill said, it's more about the new cast than it is them, they are there just to pass the torch. It makes sense to have them back.

Han - Solo Movie ** Spoilers **
Time

Watch this link below and tell me if you think this guy should not at least a screentest audition for the Solo movie. It's almost feels like destiny. Now some will say he's just an imitator and has little acting experience, just like many people in the SW movies had little experience before they were cast.

At least screentest the guy, he look more like Ford than anyone else does. Ford was his hero and inspiration to get into acting. He is 25 now. They said late teens early 20s Han in the upcoming film. But if 25 year old Hamill can play near 20 year old Luke, why can't Anthony play Solo being slightly younger?
