Star Wars Despecialized Editions - Custom Bluray Set (Released)
Time

Hm, it might be a little off-topic, but does anyone remember the old custom metal DVD cases designed by Paul Champagne? I have on for 4 DVDs here (with an autograph from Jeremy Bulloch;-)), but I wonder if someting similar would be possible for Harmy’s set? Would be great to have such a great custom box for blu-ray size.
Anyone remember this?

Harmy's STAR WARS Respecialized Edition '97 - AVCHD and MKV Released
Time

OK, I believe Harmy’s right. The lightsaber on the Falcon is kind of green. Seems like an HD '04 Version. But: They really added the '97 crawl and the German sound is definitely not '04 - it doesn’t have that horrible lisp and Obi-Wan’s scream is '97 I believe. Funny that for the other 2 films it’s just '11 BD, but ANH is such a “puzzle”.

Oh well, I had high hopes, as I love '97 SE due to my first big screen experience, but anyhow…

Harmy's STAR WARS Respecialized Edition '97 - AVCHD and MKV Released

I have checked some scenes. This is the strangest case ever. This is what’s in the version:

  • “Krieg der Sterne” Crawl
  • Title “Neue Hoffnung” without “Eine” (97)
  • Purple cap of 3PO’s and R2D2’s ship in the dessert
  • No rocks in front of R2D2
  • Ben Kenobi’s scream I believe from '97 (it’s definitely not '04 or '11)
  • Jabba from 2004/2011

I really don’t know what version they pieced together, any ideas?

Mystery, mystery…

Harmy's STAR WARS Respecialized Edition '97 - AVCHD and MKV Released

Hi Guys,
I’m a Little excited, so I’m posting here as well (dropped a few lines in the SE section as well):

In Germany, pay tv SKY has currently the Star Wars Channel. I couldn’t believe it, but it really seems that they are showing the '97 SE of ANH there. It’s noticeable due to the fact the film opens with “Krieg der Sterne”, rather than “Star Wars”. The last Version that did this, was the '97 SE. I recorded it last night, I will check for sure after work.

Wouldn’t this be a perfect source for '97 SE Transfer? (I’m not technical expert…)
Unfortunately, the rest of the trilogy is the 2011 BD Version…

What do you guys think?

1997 Special Edition, and how can i find it
Time

Sky Germany just started the Star Wars Channel with round-the-clock Star Wars Movies. I haven’t watched it yet, but rumor has it, that they were showing the '97 SE of ANH, the rest of the movies is supposed to be the BD-Version. Can anyone confirm this? If so, it would be a great source in HD… I will record it this night - I can’t really believe it’s 97 SE, but let’s see…

Star Wars DVD Covers
Time

Hey Guys,

it's weird, having so many different versions auf our all-favorite trilogy, I'm still craving for completion. So I finally managed to get the 5-Star Version (about 10 years later, I know...:-) I will not even watch it, because of the quality:-) Can someone please cure my addiction???

Anyway, back to topic: Does anybody have a tip where to get the covers for the Five Star Trilogy (97 SE)? I looked through all the torrents as well, and prillaman just has the inlays.

Thank you so much (as always)!

Preserving the "German" Original Trilogy (Released)
Time
Hallo Leute,

I'm from Germany as well and I've dreamed of an Anamorphic Version of the Original German Trilogy for ages. I do not have the technical requirements for creating one though. For the crawls, we could at least use the "Rückkehr der Jedi-Ritter" crawl of the Special Edition. Empire and SW are more of a problem. Do we want the typo in "züruck" or not? The only good widescreen tape I posess is from 1995, having the crappy CBS logo and the weird crawls. I do have an old recording of "Pro7" (a local tv station) of the OOT. But that's cropped to 1.85:1

Dang it, we need the german OOT!!!
