Sooo, only a new DVD version, or Blu's as well?

dark_jedi said:

I am actually thinking about using the 04 DVD for the base, and replace all that was changed from 97 for the DVD's, and use the HD files (downscaled to 720p) with 720p upscaled scenes for the Blu-ray release....

Because a Star Wars SE Blu-Ray edition, along with a Star Wars OT Blu-Ray edition, would pretty much make you my all-time hero. :)
Plus, I just think it would look better on your shelf, my shelf, your fanedit resumé, etc.. etc.. :)

EDIT: Thing is, I grew up with the SE, so your OT Blu-Ray set is a gift from heaven. And since my original SE set was a VHS one, I for one am dying to see the SE's again. And if possible, I'd like to see them in the best quality possible.
Your OT Blu's therefore show me that, if anyone can do it, you can! :)

The Silver box VHS set is probably the best overall for this but of course has less resolution. In fact, I think it resembles the broadcast versions just in lower resolution and without the motion smearing.

Can't be bad. I had that set too. May have less resolution but I don't really think that degrades from obtaining the right colours of that set.

I meant, try and get as close to the original OT regarding colours, when making the SE.

It's like you asked:

Hell I do not even know what I should try to match the color to, the LD rips are real dark, VHS versions not as pink, and the DV broadcast versions are all different to LOL, so do any of you have any suggestions? to be honest, the 04 really doesn't look that bad colorwise.

So, my suggestion is to match the SE's color to the OT.
If that won't work, the only logical thing I could come up with is to try and go back to the original SE color as much as possible.

What about this post?

if this DVD checks out, these are the specs:

4.38 GB's (damn did I get lucky on this LOL)
16:9 anamorphic video @ 2.35:1 encoded at 4200 avg bitrate
Dolby Digital 5.1 @ 384kbps(untouched Laserdisc rip,Thanks to Darth Editous)
Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround @ 224kbps (untouched Laserdisc rip captured with video)
NO Menu's,Movie only, chapters, audio selectable by your DVD player remote.

and now for the HUGE Thanks to Darth Editous for the 5.1 audio file! IT SOUNDS GREAT!!!!!!!

The audio took A LOT of work but it payed off in the end, took me quit a few hours to get ESB all sync'd up and edited back together, because I got the files in LD sides, not 1 file for the whole film,so now that I have done this once already, hopefully ANH and ROTJ will not take as long.

I feel very little sympathy when Ady has included something about the audio track being only a temp one in just about every video description and comment on videos that he has released so far
Yeah, there's that too. I forget myself.

Next time someone forgets himself, we'll make sure he can be retrieved from the lost and found section, amongst other hidden beauties ;)
(I know, silly joke, but take a closer look at the picture!)

To be honest with you, I have deleted ALL V3 files from my hard drives, after I watched the samples of this on my HDTV, I lost ALL interest in the V3 DVD's, the 720P upscale with a pretty high bitrate running at 23.976 on my system blows the V3 DVD away, no comparison, to me anyways, plus you have to keep in mind, it is not only about the video, it is having ALL audio files on 1 Disc for each movie that is super cool to, in Dolby Digital, DTS-HD MA and LPCM, and for a bonus, the Imperial Edition score will be on the ESB Blu-ray, you just can't do what I wanted to do with shitty DVD format, even funnier is the fact that I have not even burned me copies of the V3 Set, all files, including the lossless avi and ISO's are all backed up on an external, so to answer your question, I probably will not do a side by side, because there is more at stake here than just video, sorry.

**Mouth falls open in awe** :-D
Here, here! Can't wait!

Thanks guys. I've just got back from visiting Dad in the hospital and have just been told that the operation was a success and they have managed to get rid of all the cancer :) so i'm going to be getting pretty drunk tonight to celebrate

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!! :) (sorry, got carried away).

I think you should include your father into this ESB:R deluxe set somehow.
Behind the scenes footage, a cameo somewhere during the scenes on Hoth? Or maybe on Cloud City? Immortalise him in ESB:R! :)

P.S.: Lay off the booze. It's no good ;)

I seem to recall that a replacement 'Shield Generator' and 'inside of Asteroid Slug's mouth' are also being done.  And I also seem to recall that a 'Hoth rebel trench' is being planned too!

There's certainly plenty of neat stuff mounting up to be covered for the behind-the-scenes extras disc. :)

The Asteroid Slug's mouth could use definite improvement, now that you brought that up.

I too recall mention of the shield generator, and the trenches.
The bonus disc is actually what I look foreward too most :)

^What they said.

I know you've just finished v3. I just hope you haven't abandoned this.

Abandoned? nope, it is done, it has been done for months.

So it has been done for months now? This set? The SE v2 set?
Wouldn't it have been easier for you to then have uploaded both the SE v2 and GOUT v3 to MySpleen at once?

No offense Bingo, but how is it off-topic if I clearly asked ady from the get-go if he could change anything about it? I know It's a Trap is based on ROTJ, but ady could easily implement female background characters during the stages of Hoth in ESB:R.
Especially so if he will be shooting scenes himself.

It was an over-exaggerated view of her role in the campaign Tobar.
You're correct about Camie and Han's girlfriend, no doubt, but that still doesn't change the fact that the final result, as we've seen it, contains very little female presence.

And yes indeed, ady, the model is stunning.
I'm jealous of your craftsmanship.

That proves my point, doesn't it?

Not only is Leia one of the very few females in the Star Wars OT, but she also manages to kill what little more there are left when she kills Jabba and blows up his ship.
According to wookieepedia, the band escaped, but that's EU, so we're assuming they all burned to a crispy death in the fire ;)

Like the video says, there were...?
Leia herself, Mon Mothma, Aunt Beru, Sy Snootles, Rystall Sant, Greeata Jendowanian and Lyn Me (the back-up singers), and Oola.
8 in total, of which the latter 7 don't even manage to combine their screentime to half an hour.

Although, if you think about it, you couldn't blame Lucas.
Leia managed to send hundreds of people to their deaths, by having them do her dirty work, so she could have revenge for some dude blowing up her planet.

I'm currently watching Family Guy: It's a Trap! and they sort of make a really valid point halfway in the film.

Why does it seem as if Leia's the only damn chick in the universe, besides Mon Mothma? Apart from one or two women in the background in ESB in Cloud City, I can't recall too many female characters.
And I'm of course deliberately not talking about the EU. Only the films.
Will something be done about that too?
