So when you chop your hands off they grow back? That's pretty nifty.

Well, if anybody cares I've decided to just use the blu ray track.
What do you think of removing the whole notion of a "strike team" being mentioned in the briefing scene? I'm thinking also of completely removing han, leia, chewie, and all "familiars" from that scene and have it just be a brief rundown of the plan, showing the aforementioned characters but not having them speak, because everything they say is unbelievably hokey and campy.
Or maybe mentioning the strike team, but not having it directly said that Han is captain and all the "General, count me in" moments. I'm hoping it will work to just mention that there IS a strike team, and having the audience infer who it is when we see them all together in the imperial ship. Even if the audience doesn't infer that, it's not really a loss to the story.
Any opinions? Interest in this edit seems to be fizzling out, but that's probably my fault due to the on again off again nature of me with this project. For what it's worth things in my life have settled down and I'm nearing completion of my musical project I've been working on (Non SW related) so I will have some of my "creative" time freed up soon.
My personal problem with that scene is the fact that Han, a mere smuggler, is a general. As well as Lando. Other than that you can keep the rest in my opinion. I haven't watched that scene in a while though, might be more I dislike.
I haven't decided on that 100% yet. Might do a mock up.
And bingo, thanks for the input, you may be right. It is to be noted that I wasn't BOTHERED by my (perceived) lack of interest or taking it personally or anything, that's just how it seemed. And if that is how it is, I'm okay with that, and if it isn't, I'm okay with that too.
Blue milk for everybody. (I find it hilarious that Mark Hamill himself said that stuff tasted awful)
I'm sorry that I spilled pudding on your dog.

This has nothing to do with your question, but I just remembered my cousin actually has the "Hylian Shield" tattooed onto his arm. It looks pretty sweet admittedly, but I wonder how he will feel about that decision 20 years from now...

Has anybody else wondered about the history of the Shadow Temple? One of the voices says, "Here is gathered Hyrule's bloody history of greed and hatred." That makes me wonder if Ocarina of Time Zelda's ancestors weren't always the good guys.
Could have been infighting or rebellion among the peoples. Just saying "Hyrule" doesn't mean "The authority figures of hyrule". There are bad apples everywhere! Got one the other day, bag of fresh green granny smith apples and there was a yellow nasty apple in it. Bleck!
Also, does anybody know if the mix present on the blu rays has higher quality than what the pcm soundtrack from laserdiscs does? I'm not talking about changes, faithfullness, etc, just audio quality. I know the pcm track has a higher bitrate, but that doesn't necessarily mean the blu ray track doesn't have higher quality to begin with.
They sound pretty similar to me, but I may be leaning towards the blu ray track.
I see, well thanks for clearing that up. Interesting.
Why was he banned? Just curious, and apologies if this is painfully obvious in some thread that I just haven't noticed yet.
I really appreciate the thoughts, everybody. I really do. Thank you. And that is a really sad story Bingowings! :( I am going to try to make it down there to see him. I'm just a housekeeper at a nursing home (and I'm not even an old lady... go figure) so hopefully the floors won't get up and walk away if I don't mop them for a few days.

I just found out that, on top of all the other family problems I'm having, my grandfather has a brain tumor and will have to have brain surgery monday.
He made it thru the surgery, and the tumor was successfully removed, but upon removing it it was determined that the tumor was indeed cancerous and will undoubtedly grow back.
He's been given a 12% chance of survival, but more realistically he has 6-12 months to live.
:(
Well it's ocarina of time for N64 for sure, unless it's master quest which is basically the same thing.

7. A Link To The Past
Blasphemy!
I didn't have a SNES as a kid. I went from NES to N64. By the time I had tried A Link To The Past, my mind was already blown away buy Ocarina.
That's probably why I didn't like A Link to the Past all that much when I played it, either. As a teenager, it's hard to be interested in this
after first being exposed to this
How the hell did you get that giant skull thing to pop up? I've never gotten one THAT big... (insert somebody making a joke about me saying I've never gotten one that big out of context)
Also, I see what your saying, but the puzzles in ALttP are set up alot differently, it's unique and two different experiences.
Chickens, obviously.
The remake of "The Omen" was pretty terrible, and not even nearly as scary as the original.
Well I can understand that, but there's just something mystical about a link to the past. Majora's Mask will always be my favorite though. It's so dark and creepy and creative and clever... I love the creepy factor of the whole thing.

; if they ever make a movie(s) based on the franchise, I hope they use those two games as inspiration.
Actually, there was a fan movie of ocarina of time called "Hero of Time". From what I've heard, it is incredibly good for a fan-made movie, and the screenshots I've seen do have some pretty good cgi-work (for a fan movie that is), but it would still be disappointing since the story deserves a big budget movie.
A majora's mask movie would be amazing though. Or maybe a mini-series would be even better, with the repeating three days and whatnot.
Actually, OOT would be a good tv series as well. A dungeon an episode? It'd be hard to condense all the plot into a single feature.
Ocarina of Time actually does make me emotional, particularly toward the end of the game. Majora's mask is equally as good too in my opinion. And with an emulator with a decent texture pack running they don't even seem that dated, other than the sound effects (which I wouldn't want to change anyway)
You're trying to add logic to a film where they fly a ship inside an asteroid and just so happen to also be flying into the belly of a huge snake/worm thing that just so happened to be living in this asteroid and has been surviving by eating...???
Not knocking the film or anything, just think you are overthinking things a bit! Just enjoy the movie, did any of this bother you when you first saw the film?
I'm very grateful for that, to all of you.
I just found out that, on top of all the other family problems I'm having, my grandfather has a brain tumor and will have to have brain surgery monday.
It's my mother's father, but it will be me and dad being there for him because of course she still won't face any of us even on her own father's deathbed.
Please keep us in your thoughts/prayers/goodvibesenders.
This is my very rough and quickly thrown together attempt to make it match the surrounding shots a little better. It's not perfect and it actually doesn't look as natural as yours, but I wasn't going for natural, I was going for fitting in with ROTS, lol.
Hmm, well I do agree it looks much better than Q2's, but I would say it needs a little more blueish purplish tint to it. Those might not be the correct colors from a technical standpoint but to my eyes that's what they see. It doesn't look bad though! I might just be nitpicking because I'm expecting it to look different.
I hope you color corrected the scene with padme at the end to match ROTS! I saw Q2's edit, and while this idea worked as far as pacing and believability is concerned, it stood out like a sore thumb visually because it looked radically different from the rest of the movie visually and it stood out horribly.
