I would like to hear about what you guys think about what the title may be.
I would like to hear about what you guys think about what the title may be.
Do you think that JJ Abrams will see the prequels as important continuity? Do you think he'll abandon the prequels to have a fresher start? I think it would be okay if he kept the basic backstory of episodes 1-3. But I think Abrams should abandon the midi-chlorians forever. What do you think?
I can live with a special edition that restores the image substantially but keep the original special effects (which means no CGI at all), and please give Boba Fett his original voice back for Empire and Jedi. The only changes I can deal with are cleaning up the image of the movie and maybe making the lightsabers look more vibrant to fit the fixed imagery. If that is all they change, then it's a steal.
I think its time to make a traditionally animated series for Star Wars. We already had a CG animated series, why not start fresh with a non CG one? I suppose it is about the formation of the Rebellion. I like how Disney is focussing on the original trilogy arc now what with the fact that they are making Episode 7. I'll check the show out when it airs.
A New Hope:
The 1995 edition because it is the only unaltered copy I have.
Empire Strikes Back:
The 1997 edition because it was in the 1995 box set I got from a thrift store. Still pissed about that.
Return of the Jedi:
The 1995 edition because, once again, it is the only unaltered copy I have.
I can see an origin story of Jabba the Hutt. It can be like a noir/mafia type movie.
Most of the effects (and I mean MOST) in Phantom Menace are pretty good, but there are some that can be way better than they are. I despise the story of Phantom Menace with a passion and the new characters such as Qui Gon Jinn, Jar Jar Binks, and Queen Amidala are easily three of the worst characters ever put on screen. The already existing characters I think did an okay job. You could tell that Ewan Mcgregor was at least trying in all three films. So many people were waiting for it, and it just collapsed. Attack of the Clones on the other hand was way better but something about it turned me off. The acting was definitely subpar and I plan to see it in 3D just to have the joy of laughing at the dialogue in theaters. Anakin Skywalker is just so unlikeable in Attack of the Clones and George Lucas went way too hard on the effects, so much so that even the clones are CGI. Which leaves Revenge of the Sith, this prequel is by far the best and I thought it was pretty good. Sure the acting can be a hell of a lot better, but the story of Anakin's fall to the dark side and the darker action pretty much whites all of the bad stuff out. So yeah, I hated Phantom Menace, didn't really liked, but I liked Revenge of the Sith.
Haven't heard of this. I might check it out.
Fantastic! I actually saw Star Trek 09 having not being a fan of Star Trek, and I loved it. I am so hyped for Episode VII. I know people have said this before Phantom Menace came out but.....there is no way this is going to be bad.
I know this is old news, but I am interested to hear what were your first thoughts when you saw Harrison Ford's head digitally dodge that laserblast and shooting back.
Now this is what confuses me. I absolutely regard ROTJ as my second favorite in the series. I don't hate the prequels, I just dislike them (ROTS was pretty good in my opinion). Also, I haven't seen too much of people regard the prequels more than ROTJ. I have seen it however. I think Return of The Jedi is a fantastic way to end the series because of how high the stakes are. A new Death Star, The Emperor, and the final battle at Endor (I know it might be hard to believe that the Ewoks can take out an entire fleet of Stormtroopers but I guess it could be because they had the home team advantage, i dunno). It ends the series with great respect and leaves the audience to wonder what is next for this series (besides mediocre prequels).
Personally, I am trying to be more optimistic but at the same time I have a small worry in the back of my head that it will be bad. But we'll see until then, I guess.
Mainly because it wasn't more of the same. I think it continued the story in a logical way. If you blow up the Death Star, you do not win for good, The Empire will come after you. It tells you what happens afterwards it isn't just Episode 4 with same characters, different villain. It is a logical continuation and I think it is the one of the greatest movies ever made. Granted, I like the first one a lot but I think this one is definitely my favorite but I guess that is just my preference.
Wars?
The Forgotten Evil.
Eh, I don't know.
Apparently, it will take place after Return Of The Jedi and will be the first Star Wars film to be made LucasFilm was sold to Disney. I honestly feel that Star Wars is in better hands with Disney. Avengers came out after Marvel Studios was sold to Disney and I didn't see any kiddly elements in it, so I think this movie might be a good one. I personally want it to have the same feel as the Original Trilogy. And please get good actors.
If he did escape, he would have had somewhat of a role in ESB and ROTJ. I believe he did in fact die on the Death Star.
I know this sound crazy, but since I was born in 1999, I grew up with the Special Edition of the Original Trilogy. I watched episodes 4, 5, and 6 thinking these were the original theatrical versions that have no changes whatsoever. You won't believe how mad I was when I found out I was growing up in a lie. I desperately want to see the original unaltered trilogy commercially released because I never got the chance. When I saw the end of ROTJ on the 2004 DVDs and saw Hayden Christensen, I already questioned it even though I was eight years old. I knew that Hayden Christensen was the one who played Anakin in Episodes 2 and 3. But I also knew that the Original Trilogy films were released years and years before the prequels. I wondered how they could get Christensen in there when he was probably was a sperm at the time. I then figured out Sebastion Shaw was the original man that was standing there. It pissed me off how easily I believed that the three movies I've been watching were full of unfair and cruel lies. Don't get me started on Greedo shooting first.
