well It doesn't matter if the clip is exported as anamorphic or not, as long as it shows up right it should be fine. It's the sequence that has to be anamorphic in sequence settings (actually even that doesn't really matter because you can make it anamorphic in dvdsp when you are making the DVD)

I may have discovered your problem: make sure the new clip has the same flag as the DVCPRO clip. I.E. if that was anamorphic make this anamorphic, if it wasn't it shouldn't be.

Oh, It must have been Close Encounters I was thinking of, that had three cuts on one disc I believe. A Blade Runner-like set would be neat.

Have you found a source to redub Johnny with "Sammy" "Sam", "George" or "Georgie"? (Kirk's brother is George Samuel Kirk. "Johnny" was an edit they made after removing Kirk's brother from the script)

Remember that Vulcan's aren't vowed to purge all emotion until Kohlinar (probably butchered the spelling) Vulcans choose to embrace logic but are very emotional inside. The Vulcan kids are kids. In a TOS episode Amanda said that Spock was teased frequently as a child (Journey to Babel I think)

There's a shot in the extended Kirk and Gaila scene where Kirk has green makeup on his nose. maybe the shot from the movie can be substituted? There is a slight dialogue difference in that shot though.

No. I have 2 reasons -

1) this should be an "extended cut" and not a "fan edit" so I'm trying to include absolutely everything I find not depending if I like the scene or not

2) During many years of the franchise there have been many episodes where we see some aliens communicating together in their language and when they meet Humans they start to speak English. I never head a problem with that

I know, but they speak English to each other later on in the movie. "The Wait is Over" and "I don't want to kill him, I want to make him watch blablabla..." The Klingons even speak to the other aliens in Rura Penthe in Klingon but investigate Nero in English.

Yeah. As long as anamorphic 16:9 is checked in the sequence settings and it looks right it should be okay.

It works perfectly for the exact same clip when dragged into the timeline manually. But for some reason does not work for the same clip added via 'reconnect media'. Which makes no sense. They're the exact same clip in the exact same sequence!

I had one problem with Avatar, and that was that I thought the quick acceptance of Jake as the leader towards the end of the movie dumbed down the Navi culture. He didn't even have to apologize, all he had to do was tame this dragon and suddenly they were all over him, personally I don't really think Jake should be able to master that culture and become the leader just like that. Cameron wanted us to see the Navi as a complex culture with a different way of life than our own and I think that scene really made it seem as if Jake was "superior" to them. I thought they had reason to distrust Jake and he was, in many ways, using them. I think rather than the "this is our land" speech (is it really his land?) we should have seen some sort of apology and Jake should have been accepted into their culture and fought with them but not suddenly the leader of all the Navi. Just my two cents. Otherwise I really enjoyed the movie.

You could have different edits with seamless branching that were like each of those editions, but don't forget that the SEs, and the DVDs, were cleaned up and coloured in different ways, so even a shot that hasn't been otherwise tweaked with new effects will be different in each edition.

The audio might add up but the mono and stereo mixes are only a few channels and wouldn't even add up to the size of a 5.1 mix.

Besides, They could lose the 97SE And I wouldn't care too much, as long as the theatrical is there.

Would do this myself but I only have the blu-ray and no way of ripping it. I can't do the effects but I can at least splice all the scenes back in the movie.

As with most downloads, you receive a DLC that you use with Jdownloader or whatever download manager you use.

All right thanks. I realized that I had to extract the rar first and then import it into jdownloader. For some reason STuffit Expander wasn't extracting it and I just had to get a different rar extractor. I'm used to torrents but I got a 30 day rapidshare trial for some other edits. Its working now.

You need to change the sequence from DV-PAL to Prores. Change the compressor settings, aspect ratio, and pixel aspect ratio of your sequence to match your source clips.

So, Finally got to watch this. I have to got to say, I really enjoyed a lot of it but I felt too much remained unchanged. The Wiliams score has really got to go, completely, for this the work, It's just too familiar and doesn't feel right. Vader is inconsistent, i LOVED the effects and most of the new dialogue but it's completely at odds with the original dialogue still included, which is mannered and reserved. I think Vader and possibly 3PO ought to be entirely redubbed. The thing is, I enjoyed the new stuff: The Cantina, the new music, the twin suns scene. But too much of it remains the same. Also, the gore was inconsistent, I think we needed to see more throughout the movie, overall I felt there was too much talking and not enough badassery. The Troops scene also needs to be cut shorter IMO and the stormtrooper needs to be redubbed or his voice needs to be modulated. I enjoyed the inclusion but it felt like it was from another movie with all the shaky cam effects and referencing the camera.

Overall, nice try. I'm not too familiar with Grindhouse movies but I get the idea, I just think you need to go further because it still feels like A New Hope a little cut up with a few cheesy scenes thrown in.
