STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

As far as the DVD is concerned, the structure is now 90% complete. There should be enough space on the DVD-5 to include some extra features which would mainly be the trailers . As soon as i can start rendering the mpeg files then i can easily replace the temp avi files and find out just how much can be squeezed onto it. The whole process should only take about a day or so to complete.

Not to be pushy, but how's the progress coming?

take your time... but hurry

This is of course only a temp. You can't see a lot of the detail in this but I did more then just "cut and paste". But you get the idea.

Thanks again to OBtwosy for the dvd logos

very nice my friend, very nice

@Ady - did you want folks with covers to get to them to you for DVD-ROM content? if so, feel free to PM an address to send them or whatever you'd like to do.

it probably wasn't intentional, but because you did not know for certain, it was akin to saying, "I've heard there's a surprise in Empire Strikes Back - but it can't be that Vader is Luke's father - that's just too obvious. It's gotta be something else"

or more lowbrow - "Waldo can't be that guy in the striped shirt with glasses in the bottom left hand corner behind the mummy - it doesn't look like Waldo to me"

my point is purposefully overstated, but the issue is this: because you weren't certain it was NOT Lucas, you should have refrained from mentioning the specific scene.

OBtwosy, love your cover man. I've always had a penchant for the original theatrical posters myself. One quick question, though, if I may: should you perhaps rework the spine to include "A New Hope?" I suggest this only because I'm not sure how similar covers for ESB and ROTJ would look standing next to each other (aside from the roman numerals at the bottom).

thanks!
I suppose it could, although I like that it doesn't.
Instead of replacing my EP IV DVD with Ady's, I'm sitting them next to each other on my shelf...
I know... I know... then I have two EP IV's next to each other. But I also have a II.V (ADM's "Clone Wars"), a IV.V ("Holiday Special Re-Edit") and a IV.? ("Troops"/"Pink Five... so far")
but anyone can always re-photoshop that section pretty easily.

Originally posted by:Sevb32 He posted an image of one the guys (original text deleted so as not to continue spoilage). I didn't think the guy looked like Lucas, 70s, or more current. I zoomed in on the DVD too.

Originally posted by:adywanWell the image was on a link so anyone that didn't want to know where he was didn't have to know about it but it looks like you have just given it away now.

I tried to avoid this exact scenario using a link so as not to become a PM'ing clearinghouse.

@sevb32 - perhaps you could have just said - "I don't think that's him."

Hopefully this will pass muster

I credited sluggo for his text.

if you can squint, you see the credits includes "Sir Alec Guinness" (knighted in 1959)
and includes "with James Earl Jones as the voice of Darth Vader"

a. because I wanted to make those changes
b. to further reassure folks that this is my doing - not borrowed

exactly. it's almost finished. apparently my boss thinks I should actually be doing real work, so I had to put it on hold for a while.
I have reworked it and will post it soon.

I did use sluggo's text description (tweaked ever so slightly) because I thought it was great.

Ah, well yeah, that's a little different.

I agree completely - I will be changing that section to original stuff.

I'll take that IMG down and replace when I have it completed

again, my sincere apologies & thanks boba feta

work in progress...

thanks Ron.

most of the DVD cover art I've seen for fan edits is not 'original art'.

I'm am totally curious as to what Ady is painting though.

apart from the text on the back (credited to sluggo) , all the images are readily found on the internet - unless you mean the overall layout

the back small graphics were made available by Ady, the front cover is, as I said, the movie poster, back Vader is from the 30th ann. CD artwork.

i suppose a cannibalized cover for a cannibalized movie is fitting

regardless - I'll use it for myself and not make it otherwise available.

thanks boba! :/

@ ADY: I'm using cannibalized in the best sense of the word for your edit - I think it truly magnificent

ROtFL!

Ady - I feel for you man

Mojo may "work" in Hollywood, but until he shows us his edit of EP4, just ignore him.

Constructive criticism is one thing - personal attacks ("kid with a new toy") are another.

What arrogance to lambast a fan doing a fanedit. Comments like "what they hated" are not constructive any more than saying "mostly your wife is pretty, but tell that Rhino to get a nose job"

My understanding is these edits are done by amateurs for enjoyment - not resume building, or critique by seasoned (hardened) industry pros. the music works (imho). not all that comes out of Hollywood is "good" simply because it comes out of Hollywood.

It's incredibly easy to let someone do all the work and fine tuning and then bitch about what you don't like - it is much harder to bring your own edit to the table.

Actually this was one change I hadn't anticipated and thought it was really cool. the blue-shifted color with the mottled sky/wormhole through the windows. I was watching and all of a sudden said, "whoa! sweet!"

(and I've been out of my teens for a long time... a long time)

The work is astounding.I only got a chacne to watch it last night and it is amazing.best compliment I can give is what has been said already-it is the only version of ANH I will watch from now on.Superb stuf Ady.Congrats on your dedication and take a break!

well - not totally. I don't need to see my name in the credits, but I did send a few resources to Ady during the process that he requested
and I'm not there.
Ady, I just finished viewing it again - marvelous job!

the only issue I noticed was during the scene when Luke is gazing at the binary sunset I got this odd flashing red line at the bottom of the film - maybe it was data corruption in the files as I got them - not in your original.
EDIT: it's on my end

the new space battle scenes are great (Especially the 4 TIE vs. Falcon escape scene), and the new computer readouts.

Vader/Kenobi duel - outstanding - I kept asking aloud, "how did he do that?"

... and so many other little things that made me smile and say - "how cool" - things that added but were not distracting.

Great work! I know my 2004 SE DVD is going to simply be a cool drink coaster now!

I'm an Adyfan all the way!

or there is "Transmission" if you're on a Mac

right now I am able to download anywhere from 7k to 25k (highest for me was 57k) - and I'm on DSL

I was thrilled to see see 4 hrs left - then it flipped back to 2 days, 3 hrs and keeps bouncing all over the place.

I'll probably just keep dl and seeding on

- dang it just dropped to 5.8k - keep seeding guys and gals!

LOL - this is totally me too! keep seeding everyone and I will as well - only 14 more hours, then a quick burn... now I have to decide between the Packer NFC Championship game or an evening of Revisited. I am completely jealous of those who've already seen it!
