What were your original expectations for the PT?
Time

The Prequels met some of my expectations, though I was dissapointed in TPM for a long time, I liked the other two more or less from the day I first I saw them at the cinema. I think there are flaws in the films and there a few things I would have liked to have seen maybe done differently but I find them entertaining and thats one thing I wanted from these films so they succecced in that aspect.

We've been hearing from multiple sources now that the folks up at Lucasburg were surprised enough at the lackluster sales of last year's Star Wars Trilogy DVD re-run ("Now with Han shoots first!") that they're afraid they might have gone to the Sarlacc Pit one too many times, so to speak.

Oh gee!!! REALLY?!?!?!

As usual, there's no fucking common sense coming out of LFL.....they want to delay the box set cuz they think people have had too many SW releases and that's why the last one tanked? IS THERE ANYONE IN THAT COMPANY THAT HAS ANY FUCKING BRAINS WHATSOEVER??!?!?!? ARE YOU ALL IDIOTS WITH YOUR HEADS SO FAR UP YOUR ASSES THAT YOU CAN TASTE YOUR BREAKFAST???

Let me spell it out for any of you LFL retards in case you are reading.......NO ONE BOUGHT THE LIMITED EDITIONS CUZ THEY WERE SHIT QUALITY AND YOU CAN'T WATCH THEM ON A WIDESCREEN TV!!! GO TO BEST BUY AND SEE HOW MANY TVS ARE WIDESCREEN!!! WHO'S GOING TO BUY MOVIES THEY CAN'T BE PROPERLY WATCHED?!?!?!? AND YOU DUMBASSES WERE WARNED ABOUT THIS TOO....LAST FUCKING MAY!!!

YOU STUPID FUCKING DIPSHIT MORONS!!! GODDAMN, ARE YOU DUMB!!! PULL YOUR HEADS OUT OF YOUR ASSES ALREADY......NIMRODS!!!

The preceding was aimed at Lucas and the employees at his companies who make the decisions and issue the public statements. The author of this post makes no apologies for said content because he cannot tolerate such stupidity. The author expects a company that makes millions of dollars a year to have their shit together a little more. That is all.

All they need to do is go on Amazon, it is spelled out for them there, I have never seen so many one star reviews for a product, not everyone wants the OT but it would have sold more had it been actually value for money, which it wasnt, and I cant believe LFL are that stupid to reliase that the product wasnt any good and thats why the figures werent as good as they thought they would be.

I was actually becoming interested in this new boxset and seeing what they were gonna do for the 30th Anniversary and it seems a bit of a shame they might not release something to celebrate, Im not surprised at lucklustre sales of the 9/12 disks myself considering the hammering they got on Amazon and on other places, all of my friends who grew up with the films were interested at the start and having the original versions on DVD for nostalgic reasons but once they found they were non-anomorphic they didnt bother and just stuck with the release they bought in 2004.

I am looking forward to seeing this, as I actually used to live and go to school where it was filmed so I can see if I can recognise any parts of it as I havent been there for a while, and because I also enjoyed Shaun of The Dead whenever I watch it. I may try and catch it this weekend....

Yes, those conspiracy theorists are quite dumb. I remember hearing a story where some guy accosted Buzz Aldrin and accused him of being a fraud and a disgrace and then Aldrin punched him out--good job! As a photographer, the one that always gets me is the bit about "theres no stars!"--have you ever tried to photograph stars using a motion picture camera? Whenever you see a starscape in a movie, its a special effect, because stars are too dim to expose at 1/48th of a second, especially on 1960's speed stock. The other bit about the flag "flapping in the wind"--yes, all those brilliant CIA conspiracy guys forgot to close the studio doors and a massive gust was whipping through the soundstage (whilst also undisturbing the sand and spacesuite costumes). I think this is all given legitimacy by that dispicably manipulative Fox television special in the late 90's that was in favor of this conspiracy.

Ah, that damn fox special. Awful. It showed during peak hours and brought so many people to the belief that the moon landing was bunk. Watched by millions of people who had no desire to look into the subject further, but rather to merely accept what they saw. There is another moon landing special produced by the BBC, it is quite good actually. It takes every one of the consiracy theorist claims and one by one debunks them, in the end rather than flat out saying the conspiracy theory is crap it invites the viewer to decide for themselves.

Ive have seen both documentries the Fox consipiracy programme is shown quite frequently on the Sci-Fi channel here in the UK usually before Capricorn One is shown, it makes alot of claims which could be very pursusive to some as it has very little rebuttal in favour of a non-consipiracy and when the one on the BBC was shown the claims are shown to be that just that with very little weight to them.

I really enjoyed the SE in 1997 it was great to see them at the cinema again as had been ages since I had seen the SW films in the cinemas and it was nice to see the new stuff for the first time, I have never really hated the SE but there are a few changes which I feel didnt need to be added to the films and still do feel that, but to me the good outweighs the bad, but at time I didnt reliase the original films which had been around for well over decade would suffer the fate they have suffered and that is really my biggest dislike when it comes to the SE what has happened to the original films.
