Info: Back to the Future The Ride - "Park Edit"
Time

I don’t know if anyone would be interested, but I have a “rare” Back to the Future Ride DVD that I refer to as the “Park Edit” Because in addition to the ride footage, it also includes the “music break” moments where tracks from the films play while you see the IFT logo spinning around. Obviously the quality is not nearly as good as that of the official release, but it does include some footage that was cut, such as the DeLorean running a systems check and Doc assuring everyone that the problems around the institute would be fixed in no time (most likely a “ride is down for technical issues” thing)

Idea: Uncut Disney Afternoon Show Pilot Movies - anyone done preservations on them?
Time

Has anyone thought about a preservation for the uncut airings of these? The DVD releases are sadly the edited syndication versions:

  • Darkwing Duck - Darkly Dawns the Duck
  • DuckTales - Treasure of the Golden Suns
  • Rescue Rangers to the Rescue
  • TaleSpin - Plunder and Lightning

I used to have the VHS release of Darkly Dawns the Duck that was uncut, and I know the uncut version of Plunder and Lightning was available on a fansite at one time.

Help with Audio....
Time

I have this show on my PC, I don't know if anyone remembers Do Over from 2002 starring Penn Badgley...anyhow I have all 15 episodes of this show on my computer, from 2 different sources

I orginally purchased a DVD of the show from ebay, and all episodes contain the original 80s music tracks, but the video quality isn't the greatest. I found a torrent of all episodes with much better video quality, but episodes 12-15 are from british TV broadcasts and omit the 80s music.

I'd eventually like to try and take the audio from the episodes with the original tracks and splice them with the episodes without the 80s tracks so all episodes have the same video quality and music. But unfortunately I lock the knowhow and programs to do so, but if anyone is willing to help out that'd be great!

The episodes have 2 different formats. The better quality episodes are in MPG format, and the lower quality eps are in AVI format....

Help: looking for... 'Angus' (1995) TV Version
Time

Stations like TNT and TBS used to air this movie with deleted footage added back into the movie, I’m not sure if they still do or not, but I was wondering if anyone might have, or know where I can find this version. I found a rip of the VHS rip, and after only seeing the Extended TV Cut, it just wasn’t the same. A few of the scenes added back in include:

  • Extended dialogue between Angus and Troy in the locker room.
  • Scene with Angus helping his grandfather move some of his stuff to April’s house.
  • Scene with Angus talking with his grandfather and April at April’s house. The scene also shows the grandfather’s dance move “the irish swoon” which is described to Angus earlier in the film.
  • Extended scene where Angus goes to the dancing lesson, including Angus and Troy commenting on the teachers good looks.
  • Scene with Angus and his mom eating Hagandaas ice cream in the kitchen where they talk about the upcoming dance.
  • Extended scene where Angus is trying on suits.

Info Wanted: has anyone done an edit of 'Dumb and Dumber' with the missing scene?

I know the Australian DVD release contains a scene of Lloyd returning with change after talking to the little old lady, only to find she left and stole his stuff. Has anyone done a fanedit that adds this scene into any of the US releases, like the unrated version?

Yeah I noticed that too. It would be awesome if someone would do an edit that readds the song and also the additional little old lady scene.

Idea: Universal Studios Florida - Experience The Magic Of Movies - a preservation?
Time
Well, I tried ripping the footage using a youtube video download tool, but the picture looks squished with the "bars" on the sides...I don't know if it's the age of the video or the compression, but it suffered from bad pixelation...I wonder if the uploader would be willing to donate the original file for preservation...

Universal Studios is still and will always be a rockin' place..but I'll always have a softspot for the "classic days" (pre-ioa and citywalk) seemed much more "lively" back then.

I believe that is the one. How was it? I heard it gave behind the scenes looks at attractions like Back to the Future and Terminator, even a few I never got to see like Hitchcock and the Psycho exhibit.

That would be an awesome idea to make a "special edition" by remixing it with bits of the soundtrack

If it's the one with John Forsythe presenting, then I used to have the PAL version that I bought in Florida in 1996. Unfortunately I sold it on eBay a couple of years ago when times were hard.

The soundtrack, iirc, is all library music from APM.

Universal Studios: Experience The Magic Of Movies" was a Souvenir VHS sold at Universal Studios Florida (And most likely Cali as well) in the early 1990s that offered an inside look at many of the attractions at the park. Any Universal Studios fans out there that have this and would consider a preservation?

Idea: Darkly Dawns the Duck - Original Broadcast Version - a preservation?
Time

Hey everyone!!

Darkwing Duck was one of my favorite shows growing up, and still a guilty pleasure of mine nowadays. I just love how it pokes fun at superhero cliches. Unfortunately it seems the DVD set contains the syndication version of the pilot “movie” Darkly Dawns the Duck" which omits the following scenes:

  • An opening chase sequence showing Darkwing capturing a gang of fleeing criminals (oddly enough, the scene of Darkwing ramping the Ratcatcher up and into the bed of a pickup truck, catapulting the criminals inside into some trashcans, is featured prominently in the show’s opening sequence).

  • While following Tantalus on the Ratcatcher, Darkwing almost has a head-on collision with a large truck and is yelled at by the driver.
A longer version of the scene where Hoof and Mouth are twirling their rifles around before Darkwing jumps them.
A scene showing Taurus Bulba wheeling a cart of dirty clothes to the prison laundromat, establishing that Hammerhead, Hoof and Mouth are hiding inside it.

  • Following the car chase, Mouth has a panic attack and begins screaming, “We’re all gonna die! We’re all gonna die!” until Hammerhead hits him.

  • A longer scene of Taurus Bulba ranting about Darkwing’s ego, with him imitating Darkwing’s mannerisms and poses: “His posing, his flamboyance, the mask and cape! Ha, ha! That hat! It all indicates an ego the size of a small planet!”
While in his jail cell, the scene where Darkwing tries to get the biker pig to punch him is much longer.
A brief scene where Taurus Bulba comments that the design of the Thunderquack is ugly.

I believe the uncut version was released on VHS sometime in the 90s. Anyone consider a preservation?

Info Wanted: a Cheers Seasons 9-11 preservation?
Time

Hello Everyone,

I recently found out that the 10th season of Frasier will be released on DVD in December, the 11th I believe. Which would complete the releases, unfortunately seasons 9-10 of the show that Frasier Crane originated from still has 3 remaining seasons to be complete, and unfortunately it doesn’t look like there’s any plans in the near future to see them released. Are there any preservation plans in the works for Cheers Seasons 9-11?
