I know the scene is divisive, but I love Paxton’s character.

I am stoked for Despecialized 3.0 - for all three films in 1080p - especially now that there are 4K scans of the originals available. Harmy and those behind the 4K77 projects are absolutely awesome!

Does anyone here have the original 1989 Electronic Press Kit for The Abyss (it was included on the fan archival BD this thread is dedicated to, but can’t find anywhere)? I’m also looking for OOP documentary Rubber Rules: Back Into The Abyss (2009) special 2 disc DVD by Eon productions and any other unreleased behind the scenes clips. I’ve found the AXN rip in many places but it’s always 25fps. I find it hard to believe you have an AXN rip that’s 23.976. Are you sure you didn’t convert it to 23.976 yourself?
I was able to find the AXN source, no logo, at the proper frame rate - open matte. Much better!
I’m upping this to the spleen right now and there’s 4 days left of free leech.
There is also a Special Edition version out there somewhere of the Cinemax rip and this Open Matte version of the SpEd edited together (possibly color corrected to match - not sure) but I haven’t found it yet. I would love to find this or to have someone do this (if it can’t be located) and mux it with the DTS 5.1 audio for the SpEd.
Just checking in to see if anyone is still interested in this project. I have a 1080p open matte rip of the film (logo free) but it only has Russian audio. The quality appears to be quite good. I’m wondering if anyone could replace it with a 5.1 English mix - or better yet the DTS mix. Please message me if anyone is interested.

Lol. That’s just it though - I can only find the 25 fps version in my searches. I will have to keep looking.

Any SE version, open matte or letterbox, is soft in comparison to the Cinemax TC; according to bitrate, I’d go with a letterbox version; better solution would be to layer two versions, to eventually squeeze out further details, and a 35mm grain plate would help as well.
I was also curious, your listing says the AXN rip is 23.97 fps, but for me it’s 25. I wonder if I have a poor rip of the movie? The runtime is 2 hrs 43 min for me and it should be 2 hrs 51 min.
What is the best rip of the SpEd in terms of video quality?
I have the axn rip and for me it’s 25 fps with video + audio speedup shaving 6 minutes off the run time and making everyone sound like chipmunks.
I am wondering if anyone who has all of these downloads already is able to burn this set for me at the cost of the discs and shipping?
I do not have a BD burner and would only be interested in getting one for this set.

My Blu-ray burner seems to be failing. None of my BD discs are burning correctly. It’s probably 8 years old now. If any kind soul can burn a set for me I would of course pay for the cost of the discs and shipping. PM me if you would be interested in helping me out. 😀 I am in the US.
When it put the disc in it starts playing but no picture - just white. I have to manually select the 30 different titles on the disc by going to ‘options’ and skipping titles 1 through 30,but not all work. The menu doesn’t load when I put the disc in.
I’m using an LG 3D blu-ray player US, also tried on PS3 slim. Only one of the discs I burned out of 3 ‘kind of’ works.
I might re-download from spleen.
I’m having trouble with the SW 50g disc. I’ve tried to burn it 3 times - but it doesn’t seem to play correctly. I’ve burned twice with dvdfab and once with IMG burn. Not sure what the problem is. I downloaded from Mega. 😕
