THANK YOU!!! What you have done is amazing!
On a different note, with all the reasearch and pics regarding the flipper/hand topic, has anyone contacted Jambe Davdar to see if he could use this info for his ANH doc? It's a lot a great behind the scenes info.
Thanks again, I am loving this edit.

Totally pissed off today. Turned on my 32"LCD HDTV tonight and it died. A few bloody days before Christmas with no way of getting a new one for a few months thanks to spending all the spare cash on the kids prezzies. This just has to happen to me now of all times.
I guess the gremlins failed to get my computer for along time now so they went for my Tv instead.

Don’t as me again for this extension.

Are you sure that you're opening the "mos clip new2.mpg" file? WMP should play MPG files with no problems at all. If you can't see the file extentions, the file's icon should look like WMP's icon, or the the program that opens your media file.

I love your editing on the Greedo shot. The clip was awesome. Now I really can't wait for the release. BTW, a friend of mine can't get enough of your "1.0" version clip. He showed it to every SW fan he knows. *LOL* Thanks!

If I remember correctly, Lucas asked Henson to voice Yoda, but he was too busy and suggested Frank Oz.

Unless I'm mistaken, when Luke is told he has a fighter on his tail, doesn't Wedge tell Luke that he was "On it", then Luke looks around and says the line?

Adywan, in whatever location you decide to stick Lucas, don't ever tell me where it is. That's something I'd rather have as a forever unknown in my own head.

Perhaps getting three drives, with two going into a mirrored RAID as an extra precaution?

I would like to suggest that you do a commentary track for your version covering the changes you've made, the thoughts behind them, etc. I know I would listen to it.

I don't know if you've heard, but a new 'making of' book is about to be published. I read this in a story on CNN's site:
"As the movie celebrates its 30th anniversary, George Lucas will be joined by many of his collaborators at a special screening at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences' Goldwyn Theater on Monday. Simultaneously, Ballantine Books is publishing J.W. Rinzler's "The Making of Star Wars," which bills itself as "The Definitive Story Behind the Original Film."
More than just a promotional making-of book, Rinzler's account seeks to strip away a lot of the mythology about the movie's creation that has grown up over the years. Rinzler, an executive editor at Lucasfilm, was aided in that quest when he discovered a treasure chest of interviews that Charles Lippincott, Lucasfilm's VP marketing and merchandising in the mid-'70s, conducted with the film's principals between 1975 and 1978. They provided him with a contemporaneous view into the movie's origins, uncolored by its eventual success.
"Everyone's memories are somewhat faulty, and opinions have changed over the years," Rinzler explains. But the discovery of the old interviews allowed him "to do as close to an oral history as I could."
Among the forgotten aspects of the movie's production that he unearthed was a failed attempt to use front projection -- a technique in which the performance is combined with pre-filmed material during shooting -- forcing the production to shift to bluescreen. Rinzler quotes Lucas saying, "The biggest change during filming was from front projection to bluescreen. We had shot the approach to the Death Star, but once we got the results, we realized it wasn't going to work.""

Is 'The Making Of Star Wars' listed in the first post the video "hosted" by C3PO & R2D2?
If it is, I have an original VHS of it. Sadly, not in mint condition.

I don't know if you've seen, but on the alt.binaries.starwars newsgroup is some scans from the DVD and booklet of 'Sculpting A Galaxy' and the 1976 Tunisia footage from 'R2D2 Beneath The Dome'
Maybe something there for you
