.: Revenge of the Jedi 0.83 MS Edition :. (* unfinished project *)
Time
Lol NO I ain't dead, I was busy with other stuff

I did drop a few of my ideas I had back in August last year.

Example: The Thermal detonator in Jabba's Palace will stay the same, no more glow on it. I'm also SWBF modder, and in one of my most recent projects I simply removed the glow of the Thermal dets

The blue saber glow might go too, but that depends on how you guys feel about that, and the Episode III tag is again Episode VI

Next week my exams are over, and then I can fully concentrate on this again.

(And yes, my english improved ALOT in the past year ^^)

Hmm. I also remember seeing Luke missing the first time, but not in the movie, but in a documentary, it never made it into any cut of the movie. If i'm right its possible you saw that doc to.

My 50 dollar prize still stands if you can produce the goods. Not gonna happen, though. I've seen nearly every documentary there is on Star Wars.

The wierd think is, I never read any novel about the original SW. But I do remind it was low/medium quality footage, about Luke trowing, missing, taking the rope back, trying again, crossing the ravain and then it takes them about 20/30 to get rid of that rope and move on.

OUT delayed

The OUT (or GOUT or wathever) won't be released in Sweden until the 22:nd, no explenations were given, the discs are just delayed! What the fuck is up with that?

Any other country that has to wait?

I got a bit of a Star Wars itch now, I haven't watched the OT since may!

:S I know some ppl from Sweden, that bought the discs yesterday. I got them even a day early (the store wasn't supposed to sell them until September 13th, but I know some ppl their ) But ofcourse the situation here in Belgium is different to the situation in Sweden.

Episode VI: ROTJ - What Has Changed?
Time
Lol, after watching the OUT yesterday, I saw the most stupid change in the OT. Before Luke is brought to the Emperor, we see a shot of the second DS surface, while 2 TIE Interceptors pass the screen. In the SE's, the TIE Interceptors are gone! I don't know why they wanted to remove them, but this really is one of the rediculous changes i've seen (exept the flashes on the Imp officers in ANH, I don't get why they removed it, since it didn't even hold up for one single scene!).

Idea: The Original Star Wars... refurbishing?

OCPmovies CE's are good, but he left alot of SE stuff in, so you can actually call his versions the "SE-OUT", it was intended to look like the OUT, but alot of small SE changes are left in. If you want a REAL classic edition, you will have to restore really everything to its original state, including making things like the snowspeeders cockpits transparent again.

Info: 2006 GOUT DVD using 'Faces' PCM Sound?
Time

Just for reference purposes the video_ts folder on the PAL release is 6.45 GB (6,448,742,400) in size. Wonder if the NTSC is perhaps the version to have then as far as picture quality is concerned? Every byte helps afterall...

Hmm, you must have compressed the video, because when I rip my PAL version (just 1 audio track, English) I have 7.355.456.659 bytes without any of the extras. With the extra's I have 8.214.358.016 bytes :/ I didn't compress anything.

Info Wanted: Mono mix - German Versions?

The most interesting part may be that the mono soundeffects are still present in the German DD5.1 mix from 1997/2004! However, they TOTALLY fucked up the dialogue during this process... (they had to extract it from the stereo source, and the software used to accomplish this cut off most of the "s" sounds, which is the reason why Fox Germany recieved MANY complaints from Star Wars fans, because some scenes sound now ridiculous).

Yea, but the french mix doesn't any (exept the new SE scenes) new sound effects. Idk about the german mix, because it has been some time I hear it, but It definatly also missed a few SE changes.

Just to add to the conversation, have you ever considered naming the film with THE at the beginning? I've heard people refer to it such as THE return of the Jedi or THE attack of the clones. Also, once this edit is complete, are you going to post it on the internet, using a site such as Youtube?

Nope, I'll post it on the newsgroups and might put a torrent up. Again sorry that I didn't give u guys an update, but now I will wait until MBJ gives me the opening crawl, then am I able to put out a small trailer

DVD? Laserdisc? Fan transfer?

And for that matter, what format: PAL or NTSC?

I started of the 2004 DVD, but I might use so footage from the new OOT DVD of ROTJ to DE-SE some parts.
This is a PAL transfer.

Yea, their very annoying, sometimes you can even see space between the slugs and Palpatines costume!
