So, um... no new DVD's announced this year?

TFN has plenty of positive things to say about Lucas, if you're looking for some.
Yeh sunday256, it's entirely your choice to which broken record you prefer to listen to - praise or condemnation. Repeated complaints about either of those are dangerously close to qualifying themselves as sounding like a broken record. record. record. ...etc.

It's...a....freaking...TEASER TRAILER. What exactly did you expect?
Haha, exactly my sentiment when I read that line.

AICN: "Make Your Own STAR WARS Movie?!?! Lucasfilms Will Help You Now!!"

Merrick here...

A few months back, scifi.com launched a feature which enabled users to assemble their own BATTLESTAR GALACTICA movies by mixing home-made material with visual effects and music content from the series (provided through the site).

When this happened, I thought it would be exceedingly fun if Lucas and his minions did the same thing for STAR WARS. I mean, there are a ton of cool fan movies out there (some of them surprisingly well done). And, presumably, there are an infinite number of folks (like myself) who'd like to goof around with making a STAR WARS film of their own...but lack resolve, resources, or both (like myself).

As it happens, this very feature is about to be incorporated into the impending relaunch of The Official STAR WARS Website. On Friday, the redesigned site will deploy with an array of new features. One of these features allows users to integrate their own home-made material with 250 scenes/musical selection from all six STAR WARS movies. And, in an uncharacteristic frenzy of fan officialization, the site will also present a bevy of STAR WARS fan films...some of which have never been distributed on the Internet (is such a thing possible?)

Much of this is being made possible by a company called Eyespot, whose browser based, drag & drop editing application should make assembling material quite accessible & user friendly.

Instead of regurgitating a press release, I'll share more about this by giving you the actual press release itself. There are more details within this piece (including the reveal of some mini-documentaries about the making of the films, etc.), so read on.

George Lucas calls Spiderman 3 'silly'

Say what you want about the Prequels but they are no where near the mess that Spider-Man 3 is, at the script level. I mean, it's just plain bad on a lot of serious levels...things that should've been caught before this film even started shooting.

In my opinion the prequels suffer much more, since they had such an important predecessor in the classic trilogy they had to connect to. Lucas had much more control over what to do with the films than Raimi had. Putting that thought into mind, I can't take Lucas' criticism serious at all. He lost his credibility so many times by now that it's not even funny anymore.

Adult Swim's ROBOT CHICKEN: STAR WARS!!

Actor-writer-director Seth Green has concocted “Robot Chicken: Star Wars,” a 30-minute stop-motion animated Cartoon Network special which mocks scenes from the movie franchise.

Green made it in collaboration with LucasFilm.

He got George Lucas to play himself and Mark Hamill to play Luke Skywalker.

It premieres June 17 at 10 p.m.

Others lending their voices to the project include Conan O'Brien, Robert Smigel, Malcolm McDowell, Hulk Hogan, James Van Der Beek, Donald Faison, Abraham Benrubi and Joey Fatone.

Learn how Green and Lucas got together here.

In the Journal of American College Health Volume 51 Number 2 I read an article titled "Guns and Gun Threats At College" written by Matthew Miller M.D., David Hemenway PhD, and Henry Wechsler PhD. This article, which was published in 2002, states that over 10,000 students were polled at 119 4 year colleges which showed that only 4.3% of those polled admitted to having a functional gun at college. That number is terrible to me and should be more around 30%-40%. If more did hve guns the chances would be better that this nut could have been safely whacked way before he got to victim #10. However, these gun control nuts would want 4.3% taken to 0% and have any chances our students have taken away in the next shooting event, how sad these idiots think this way.

Well, living in a country with pretty tight gun control laws, I have to say that these did not help to prevent the school shootings over here.

I fail to see how you can perceive this as "new" development. The laws that can get you in jail for that kind of thing are in place for a long time here in germany.

They are taking children away from their parents in Germany because they were being home schooled. Yep. Germany is a country were going to school is obligatory by law. As with the other thing you mentioned above, it's been that way for long long time. Nothing new here either.

The bible is going to be outlawed as hate speech in Europe.
Ok, and the pope will join the Dalai Lama in his exile.

Sounds like the beginnings of a police state to me!
Sounds more like you should check your sources of information.

Don't think the media only report bullshit when it comes to discussing american gun control laws. And please don't act like it's "those other countries" that have issues and your own hasn't.

Tehee. It's really surprising how the bush administration's trend towards establishing a police state in their "war on terror" suddenly seems to have originated from europe.

And the general media drift certainly isn't "It's Charleton Heston's fault!". Go throw rocks at Michael Moore for that one...

a future Star Wars game?
Time
Heh, I'm afraid I'm more like you: Lots of concepts, ideas and dreams and no time to make them come true. When it comes to LucasArts, you should not forget that many of the Lucasfilm Games veterans don't work for that company any more (pretty much since Jim Ward became president of LucasArts). Nowadays LucasArts seems to be nothing more than a StarWars (and perhaps Indy) license administration for the computer game market. Other than that, they're busy shutting down fan-projects like LucasFan Games.

I can't remember any recent project they did in-house (well, except those promising adventure projects that got cancelled in development). Alas, I still wish you good luck with your endevours. Just don't count on LucasArts showing any kind of enthusiasm for your enthusiasm. This might change if you deliver a completely developed product that's ready to be marketed. Hasn't happened in the past though.
