The "deal" was that if he got 4,000 "likes" he'd post an image, and if he got 6,000 "likes" he'd post two images. The "likes" were well over 8,000 (but not yet over 9,000) when I posted that.

Now I see they're back to 2,000. Is this a weekly thing?

This deal's getting worse all the time...

The deal has never changed. You seem to be mistaking the number of "Likes" on the Revisited page with the number of likes that we were trying to get for Stephen Stanton's page. I think that was made pretty clear:

While things are a little quiet on the Revisited front at the moment due to the break while i move house, i'd like everyone to throw some support behind some of those that have really helped in promoting Revisited and have been very supportive. So first off......

Stephen Stanton (captain Tarkin himself). Let's get his page to at least 3000 likes before the end of next week. If you all help to reach this goal then i will post a brand new completed image from ESB:R. If you manage to get that total to more than 4000, then i will post 2 new images. So, come on everyone, lets show our support and thanks.

Sorry not all of us are so familiar with facebook, believe it or not. Way more than 8,000 people are aware of your Revisited projects, in any case.

Not like the A-Wing pilot in the Death Star tunnels in Jedi, who sounds like he is reading lines waved in front of his face for a the price of a cup of tea.

Do you mean the line, "Copy, Gold Leader", in response to Lando's order to head back to the surface?

Funny, I've never had a problem with that line, but my view was always that it was a somewhat incredulous and disapointed tone, while trying to keep the response professional. I figure he'd wanted to stick around inside the DS and defend the Falcon, or perhaps just didn't like the idea of being bait for TIE fighters...

Anyway, back to ESB - I also thought the line about Star Destroyers was fine.

I thought it sounded like he was concentrating hard, and considering the fancy flying they were having to do, it makes total sense. No problem with the line delivery whatsoever, quite the opposite.

Actually bluray writers are cheap and very popular now. However the trend is to streaming services. Bluray is on its way out.

For those of us in the USA, Newegg has a blu burner for $65 on sale. Come on guys no excuses.

Looks like the cost comes to about $1.10 per blank disc for the 6X and $1 each for the 4X if you order in bulk. That's the 25GB version, the 50GB (6X are $4.50).

I haven't done any research to see if there are any issues with burning speeds, or what brands to avoid (remembering speed and dye issues with DVD-Rs back in the day).

I barely have much use for a BD player right now (that came with my new laptop a year ago), much less a burner. Not even sure if my player can run the burnable media.

Info, & Help: looking for... Robocop - ITV Family Friendly "Freakin' Airhead" Version
Time

Sorry to revive this but this really jogs my memory, including of Ghostbusters censored version on TV using the original actor voices. I was shocked to hear the differences in the "real" version on VHS many years later.

Same deal with Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I think they replaced "Jesus Christ!" with "BLOODY 'ELL!"

Another funny one I never saw but heard about was "The Goonies."

Something about "Aw Shit" replaced with "Aw SHOOT" (different voice mid-sentence)

And something like (memory isn't perfect on this one):

Original: "It sounds like my grandpa is takin' a piss!"

Dubbed: "It sounds like THERE'S A BROKEN PIPE AND IT'S LEAKING" (again, new voice mid sentence)

And "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" I think replaced "fucking jerk" with "fuzzy nerd." I actually saw part of that one first hand, and it was hilarious, but I'm sure it would have been funnier if I knew the original lines at the time.

Seriously, these dubs deserve some kind of preservation, since many of us remember them... harkening back in the days before DVD, before we had our own VCR's and a drivers' license. ;)

Info & Idea: Repo Man (1980's) - The TBS preservation?
Time

Okay, when I was a kid I wasn’t lucky enough to have cable, but I remember my friends telling me about this hilarious movie called “Repo Man” that was weird as all get out, and was also dubbed to bowlderize the profanity (like many movies of the day), resulting in hilarious lines like “FLIP YOU!” and people being called “Nerrds” and “melonfarmers.”

I thought my chances of seeing and hearing this movie in its “original” glory were gone for good and then I read this:

http://www.amazon.com/review/R2D75JFCQXBSZL/ref=cm_cd_NOREF?_encoding=UTF8&cdForum=Fx1MLH2TP4V29P4&cdPage=&asin=B0000VV56C&newContentNum=11&cdMSG=addedToThread&store=movies-tv&cdThread=TxSA7YVALJD7SB&newContentID=Mx2S0T33UP94QQM#CustomerDiscussionsNRPB

I guess there’s a lot of scenes that were shown on TV that aren’t on the official DVD.

Somebody remembers! So I wonder if anybody out there can find a tape and encode it to preserve this masterpiece of awful, hacked up cable TV greatness?
