Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

I’m happy Harmy is working on 3.0 of despecialized, because even though there will be a 4k77 dnr version, it will never be as clean as despecialzed is, because the 4k77 teams goals are different and they are more interested in preserving the theatrical print, whereas i believe Harmy is going for a more modern and clean looking preservation of the movies, so i think both Despecialized and 4k77 both have there place.

These are really nice covers, great job! 😃 i have a request, could you release extra versions of these covers without the despecialized edition writing on the front and spines? also an alternative to the first SW cover with the posters swapped around would be good.

Hi Kingherb,

I had several request for many different variations on the covers, and I would take too much time to create each version, but maybe I’ll do an alternative versions based on the most requested modifications, or post an editable .ai version

Thanks for the reply, having a .ai or psd file would be great for people to make there own versions. If not i would be happy if you could just swap the back poster on the the Star wars cover and just send me that if its easier for you to do? and i can edit the rest of the covers myself.

My other question is; what if some of the adjustments Lucas made to the films are good? I love the old school puppet graphics much more than cgi, but the lightsaber thing … surely we don’t wanna see a dodgy yellow flare?

With love and light, Richie

If the yellow flare was in the original, it stays in this version as Harmy is aiming to preserve the original theatrical editions in HD.

If you want a version of the film that keeps some of the special edition alterations then i recommend you check out the semi specialized edits by KK650 http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/kk650s-Star-Wars-Saga-Regraded-and-Semi-Specialized/id/15637

Not that anyone cares, but I'm hoping to start reviewing more of the Team blu releases in December or early 2016.  We've had several great releases this year so I have my work cut out for me, but hopefully I can knock a few out in the coming months.

I always like reading your reviews, you put alot of effort into the presentation, i look forward to future ones.

On a side note, i am not a expert on blu-ray structure but i wonder if it would be possible to add the nfo and artwork on the disc in future, i always keep them on my pc but would be nice to know i have a backup on the disc too, just an idea.

I can't wait for NOTLD68, it will kick the ass of any official release :-)

Despecialized 2.5 of Star Wars was based on the Tech IB colors, that looked excellent on my screen.

I can't decide whether you're arguing or agreeing with me.

I was just trying to say i like the Tech IB colors and how they looked in despecialized, i do not know if Harmy had the same refrences as used for shots here but he did a good job in any case.

So you did mean it, no irony anywhere?

A video of a video as a proof of the right colors? Come on, that is absurd.

By the way, I personally didn't criticize the color balance, in fact, I said the TechniColor IB's colors could be used, BUT with reduced contrast, else it wouldn't look good on TV screen.

Color matching and prediction: color correction tool v1.3 released!

That Tech IB match looks amazing. I would love to see the Blu-ray matched to that, even with the changes. Would you ever consider releasing the Blu-ray rips matched to these sources for the basis for other projects?

That's certainly a nice idea, but it would be a 6 month endeavour to color correct the bluray, and some scenes are impossible to correct without separating the elements. I'm afraid with the projects I've got lined up, it won't happen any time soon. I will be sharing the user interface I've created for color correcting, so maybe someone else would like to do it?

I was hoping for the same thing JawsTDS, but i'm sure many will make use of this great tool so that something like that will happen.
